I seem to have a problem using Poser with Ray Dream Studio. I can export wavefront.obj from Poser to Ray Dream, but cant export w.front.obj back to Poser. The Poser manuals makes it look pretty easy, but it wont work like the description says. Do i need a plug-in for Ray Dream that didn't come with the package? If anyone that read this message are Poser and Ray Dream users, please give this question a minute and make a fair guess on what i chould do with my problem. Well, as a movie character once said: "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU..."

Yes you do need a plug-in updater. I used to have it but not anymore. I think Bloodsong might have a copy of it. -Anton

Anton is right, but alas I lost mine as well. I know that my brother has it, if worst come to worst, there used to be a yahoo group that had it, but all my forum searches came up nada. It would take me a week or more to come up with it that way, so yell if that's the only way.

Hi Resurrected, Perhaps this graphic will help. BTW - I use RDS 5.5 and did not need to add any plugins to import/export .obj files. (NOTE - RDS 5.0 *did* require a plugin to handle .obj files) cheers, dr geep ;=]

That's my memory too, Doctor. I was using RDS 5.5 up until I got Carrara Studio. Object files were supported. Ray Dream does do some nasty things to the object format and I got into the habit of running the output through UVmapper to "clean it up" as well as to map it properly. "The Poser manuals makes it look pretty easy, but it wont work like the description says." -- from post 1 above -- doesn't give me much on where it went wrong. Does Poser not recognize the file? Does it import looking odd? Are you trying to create a morph?
