I don't know if anyone else has stumbled (or posted) on a solution from keeping the figures from going bald during the prerender portion of posing a character with hairstyles that require transparency maps (or how to save a reasonably looking hair or prop resource file) without constantly fiddling with the transparency settings. For those of you who find vanishing hair a little visually disturbing when posing your figures, here's the trick. Select hair (or the transparent prop) and select element styles and set the style to cartoon. The hair will remain visible during posing, and still render transparently.

Good Lord! Thank you! Scarab <-(would also smack my head, but am approaching punch-drunk status from having to do it so frequently anyway)

Wow ! - Could be Tip Of The Year ;-) Thanks !!

You know, there really SHOULD be a "tip of the month/quarter/year" prize or award......it would be one of those situations where the winners would not necessarily be some programming genius, but maybe someone as observant and clever as DS3KAD has been here..... maybe a special forum like a gallery where people could vote or rate them. Whaddya think, JeffH?

Da..rum..err..um I guess. Doncha think we have enough underused forums here already? ;-) -JH.

LOL JeffH, But great tip. I've always set the "tranparent" hair or prop to wireframe to do the same, never thought about the cartoon selection. James

I'm not sure I would do it as a forum, Jeff. Maybe as seperate "gallery" style where, after submitting here to the regular poser forum, the innovator could also copy to a seperate forum (where it would be locked against becoming a thread) if he or she wanted to submit it for consideration. Every so often, everyone could be asked to review those listed and vote for the one they thought most useful/clever/innovative...etc. I think it would spur many who might notice something but are not inclined usually to write notes to share....especially if something neat (not necessarily expensive) if offered as a prize...maybe just listing as "Innovator of the month" Scarab
