Enough is enough... Uninstalled my RDS 5.5, and installed 5.0 edition instead. Now i got a new problem... Do anyone know the name of that plugin im going to need? Been searching for plugins for RDS and came up nada. Perhaps im lookin for plugins in all the wrong places. Well, shit happens. Have tried to make morphs for Poser in Amorphium Pro edition, but Amorphium didnt handel the obj. file from Poser. (Figure never showed up in Amorphium.) How can i contribute to R.sity when i suck at creating figures worth posting??? Its about time you all get something from me now. Well, look at it this way, alot of stuff is just waiting to get out of my head. Everything is only hanging by a morph problem. Another question for you to think about. I made a simple box-character that i tried to put a texture on, that came out with tiled texture. Texture copied it self to every bodypart, what happend? Feel like i got an IQ compared to an apple. Help this sorry ass dumb apple... Please!!! With sugar on (Like you allways do).

Hi: I can't remember the name of the plug-in,it's been a long time since I used Ray Dream. Try posting in the Carrara/Ray-Dream forum. There are a lot of people familiar with RDS who may be able to help. Good luck. Chrisf.

Amorphium Pro does quite well with Poser obj's. You just have to Import/Export/Import and use a null obj to fix the shift. For the best tut on this, I would suggest a trip over to Morph World.
The other option is Rhino. The newest version actually imports obj files directly now...and the first 30 or so saves are free.

Don't know if this site will help? MarqueMarque posted Tue, 04 May 2004 at 11:09 AM
I will look on my old cd's and see if I can find the plugins from MetaC for the RD 5.5. Are you looking for updates or plugins? Marque

the update you're looking for came with Poser 3.Email me and I'll send you a copy of my extensions/plugins folders.(I don't have any other 3rd party plugins, just what came with RDS5.)I also have the update for RDS 5.02 if you want it. If you've got RDS 5 and 5.5, though, why don't you upgrade to Carrara 3 though? I just did, and I think it's great! Just curious... Anyway, my e-mail address is : thebrain.brainmuffin.studios@verizon.net As for using amorphium, you'll need to use the magic triangle method found here: http://www.morphworld30.com/tutor.html

I wasn't going to write this, but I changed my mind... I started out making Poser stuff in RDS 5.0, it is an awful program. Aside from all the bugs and crashing and whatnot, it also make bad mesh- with unconnected faces and holes and other things I can't remember. I don't know if 5.5 is much better (never used it), but I'd advise not wasting your time learning to use it, time is money too, remember.

Thanks Jim! Glad to know I've wasted the last eight years.... I will say this though. If anyone's still got RDS 5.0 or 5.5, I would advise you to upgrade to Carrara 3 and get the transposer plugin. You won't regret it. Everything is better, modeling tools, rendering engine, particle effects, HDRI, there's now a terrain editor, an atmosphere editor, and a plant editor, in addition to meta-shapes, bones, morphs, all kinds of new materials...... if all I had was Carrara 3 (with Transposer) and Poser, I could still be happy.

I used Ray "Nightmare" 3d (demo), 4.1, and 5.5 Everything before 5.5 had severe stability problems, frequently corrupting the file during the crash. Even 5.5 had interesting modelling problems. It may have been the platform and OS I was on, but the meshform modeller was excrutiatingly slow to react. You could have lunch during the time it took to weld two halfs of a model together. The upgrade path to Carrara was a little bit over a hundred bucks. All the modellers are improved. The addition of subdivision surfaces alone, (and addition of creasing to subdivision surfaces in 3.0) is worth the money. The old windows of Ray Dream are replaced by multiple windows with reference images, responsive camera controls, display options. Plus everything else Brainmuffin mentions...particles, boning, the tree generator, the cheap plug-ins Anything Grooves (displacement mapping) and Anything Grows... If you have to stay with the Ray Dream series, go to Carrara as soon as you can scrape up the bucks. You'll earn back the money in time and aspirin within days.
