I know I saw a post about this a LONG time ago, but don't remember what forum it was on. Does anyone know where I could find a Bryce texture map to make a sphere into an Earth globe? Or, barring that, could someone walk me through how to make one myself?

FastTraxx just released an Earth .obp for Bryce. You can use that or study how it was made. If you don't wanna use that one just go here and dl the Earth and separate Cloud maps and place them on a sphere. Of course you'll have to adjust the layering yourself. The first link is FastTraxx's and the other are where the planetary maps are. http://www.chemicalstudios.com http://www.wam.umd.edu/~kamelkev/Ssystem/#Maps

Thanks. I wish I'd seen this sooner - someone at the 3D Commune gave me: http://www.envision.freeserve.co.uk/ which is an excellent resource (and had something close enough to what I needed), but these look better... :-)

Yeah that's a good site as well , though the maps are a litte smaller. But 2kx2k is pretty big too. The ones I listed are like 4096x4096. Hope you found what you needed.
