Here goes another thread....cant think of anthing to say. lol. Oh yes, the SummerWearOne package is waiting for me to finish promo's to be released. I have a something up and I am awaiting the tester. I would guess I will be released some time tomorrow. Here is one of the promos I did.

Coming back from my rehersal and finding this new thread before going top sleep. I'll test the wetsuit tomorrow. Are you still interested in me making a promo pic ?

insomniaworks posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 5:10 PM

As soon as the Wetsuit/Swimsuit is finished, I will begin working on a new product. I need to make something different. My next products must be top sellers or sales will be slow to keep me going. I have been looking at hentia, there is a lot of kinky stuff I could make that would sell across all character markets rather than only AnimeDoll. All of us who have noticed that bondage fetish products are consistant top sellers. I have a fresh aproach because I could base my products on hentia rather than real world. I didn't want to do blatently sexually perverted stuff, but I feel that is what I must do. I am considering a tentical monstor right now. Someone mentioned that in last forum thread and there was some chat about it. What do you think if that is my next product? marty

Nanoshi posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 5:49 PM

Sixus1 is making a tenticle monster you might want to check his forum out to make sure it's not gonna be in competiton on your design, but we don't have any monsters to combat so tenticle monsters are fine. Tenticle monsters aren't really Hentai, they are more horror. But in Hentai which is basically just cartoon porn lots of weird stuff happens so anything goes with that.

insomniaworks posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 6:11 PM

I am talking about a really demented tentical moster for monstor rape scenerios. I saw what Sixus is working on and mine would nothing like hers.

Riddokun posted Wed, 05 May 2004 at 6:27 PM

nanoshi i midly disagree to your definition of hentai... it is not "just porn", as far as i am asked... but it is not relevant here insomnia: well it is from nurbs ? oki coo;l. anyway it is not the sides of poly that puzzle me and makes my work difficult, it is the way it maps the polys on the texture map. well for an example just load some meshs from maya, from the md clothing pack free (like the "red" dress") to compare :) i don't know how you work and i am sure it is hard enoguh and that you choose what allow you more flexibility and less head scratchign and the like. If some things cannot be avoided by your software oki, it is fine, and thanx to explain it. but if some trhings can be avoided it may be itneresting to try out differently provided it does not add too much work on you though...

The true word for hentai is 'very perverted'. Normal perverted stuff (girls wearing actual clothes with over exaggerated body parts and no room for imagination) would be called 'ecchi'. With tentical monsters, they are usually considered Hentai monsters for numerous reason that I won't mention. Nasty... Anyway, i'm ill again meaning i have to miss out MORE SATs! My life is officialy over (if i miss out on a test it's very possible i'll be put in the low group, unless they go by my last school report, which i hope they'll do)... Well, at least I can eat again after 24 hours of starvation, eating ice cubes and sipping water. And a bit of apple juice.

Nanoshi posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 10:16 AM

Actually in Japanese Hentai means simply Perverted. or it can mean Transformation. if you take it to mean the latter then Transformers could be classed as Hentai. but we know that's not the case, Hentai is hardcore cartoon porn. now some Hentai has demons in it, but this is akin to making a porno movie based on a horror movie. Tenticle monsters 90% of the time derive from the Cthullu mythos by HP Lovecraft and although those movies occasionally have sex scenes in them that doesn't make them Hentai.

SenshiTaurus posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 10:29 AM

Um, 'Hentai' doesn't mean transformation, that's 'Henshin' your talking about...

Riddokun posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 11:16 AM

nanoshi, i really don't want to argue with you on that matter, but so many selfmade ideas is really irritating: there is ONE thing that is reccurent/common to MOST hentai things (except from the tentaculoid horror based ones, that is part of hentai but that does not stand for the majority of the genre) and that you WON'T find in us/occidental porn. it is HUMOR most of the time, hentai feature very comical/humoristic situations, and if they are not in a comical setting, they usually rely on other things. one other thing you will not find in porn movie but in hentai is PLOT and scenario for most hentai movies, especially the non comical or non demon/monster based one, there are always real cool plots... take mezzo forte or Kite (from the same designer), take necronomicon, and so on... for me, reducing hentai to perverted cartoon rawn porn with demons and tentacle is like saying cinema movies are reduced to only singing movies (like singing in the rain).. ouips that is already done as for most people, animated movie ae ONLY disney, :) so i strongly advice to broaden first your experience with hentai and try out a few various series or movies before using a sub category as a generic definition, no offence, thanx. i aleady have heard all those lame speech over and over in my country agaisnt ANIMe (classic one) then against hentai, so far and i am a bit tired having to explain that NO, anime and hentai are not only based about schoolgirl being raped by tentacular demons who are figthing against violence super power figthers :) it is not you specially, but after a thousand time the same speech i get bored :) if you want i can tell you of a few series now i also admit that in hentai there is common "porn"/sexual fetichism typical to japanese culture (and that i don't endorse so far) such as bondage, and such... but there are also some of the funniest things i ever saw :)

SenshiTaurus posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 11:23 AM

I heard of Kite...it's a dating simulator. Once, i thought i was downloading a demo, but it was actually just a 5 second long movie which showed the first five seconds of the intro. (a cel shaded seagul flying into the sun across a shiney sea...you see the words Kite in fancy writing). I wish i could make my own Dating Simulator...does anyone know if there is a way?

Nanoshi posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 4:50 PM

Well Riddukan to me you are just describing some anime series I have seen, I would never consider them Hentai, and I've never seen them labbelled as such. Maybe they just call them different things in your country. the bondage, stuff you refer to is what I know as Hentai, and is what I have seen hentai classified as in Japan and on some websites I have seen. the series you refer to are as far as I have seen just the kind of adult anime shows I watch as opposed to the sailor moon/pokemon stuff everyone else here watches. So I am not arguing with you, but I just see adult anime movies differently to hentai movies. and I have seen alot of anime, been watching anime since Marine Boy in the 60's so I don't need to broaden my viewing on this respect, I just don't view some of the series you mention as hentai and they certainly aren't labbeled as such in this country.

Grimjerk posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 5:55 PM

Marty, I put the swimsuit through the hoops and it looks good, the JCMs are performing nicely. I for the life of me can't come up with a render I like. I'll try again when I get home. I did test it with some of my magnet sets and my morphs work great on it! Grim

Riddokun posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 7:12 PM

well it may be a question of labellign at the importation then... here, all "adult" anime is labelled hentai... and in fact if i follow the definition i was given once a while from the person who brought me into japanese animation (wholly, not only adult one) some of the elements found in hentai makes many series to fit in such label, i mean as expressed in the native land. but well it is not the place for that i gues.. i did not suggest you to broaden your anime knowledge, just the hentai part of it, but as you say that for you, not all adult animation is called hentai, well i won't argue... marine boy ? i guess the serie had another name in m coutnry too. I saw many different translation of series when brought abroad from japan. Some ever very weird or strange /irrelevant translations so it is sure hard to figure what serie you are referring. in fact for umetsu yasuomi (mezzo forte, kite, yellow star) in fact it is less hentai, it is closer to typical tv movie of police story and thriller. In fact if you look at his work, there is plot, and not much sex scene, maybe as few as in a regular tv movie (just a bit more displaying, not suggesive...) well anyway one thing i can swear i am sure is that, there (in japan) hentai does not always mean bondage or tentacles so far (though bondage or toys are a strong fetish in their sexual life and culture and is ought to be present), and that usually hentai is supposed to carry "humor". anyway well it is not the place as i said. maybe it would be interesting (for both of us) to try to find out a true definition from a native, ney ?

-Yggdrasil- posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 7:15 PM

Not going to get into the "What is Hentai?" debate that has suddenly sprung up, but I will put my two cents into what I think of the idea. ^_^ Go For It!!!!! Here's a little wisdom I read a long time ago: "People define anime as to what they see. The otaku of anime define anime as to what it is. To the people, they see the hentai version of it. To the otaku, they see the innovation in it. People also have the mindset of lemmings."

Grimjerk posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 8:08 PM

DDD, I've fought that battle before. The problem is, even tho she is scaled down the "skeleton" isn't. It still thinks it belongs to V3, my advice is to build the dress to fit V3 and use the tailor or some such to morph/scale it down to fit your new figure. Thats the only thing I can think of. Clothing conformer won't work, if you load your new figure in, it just pulls up the obj for V3. OK I finaly got an image I like! I conformed some jeans I'm converting to fit over the swimsuit and retextured them for the toon render. Simular style that I did before but with some differences (more color) Grim

insomniaworks posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 8:12 PM

I don't care what hentia is....Damn..!,...all I am trying to say is that sales remain low on clothing items made only fit fit anime doll. I am planning some other projects that cross the line between "titilation" to major porn issues. I hope those of you who know me and don't believe I should work on it, would speek up. I hope those who have known me don't judge me by this, because I am only trying to increase sales in a very competitive market place. I asked Clint from Rosity what I should do and he said I should think unique, make something that no one else is making and you will get sales. This is what I intend to do. If I feel that consenses is that these items or props should not be discussed here, I will understand. I plan to make spin off forum threads on these items. Those of you who are interested can join me there also. If these items are more sucessful than my average items, then I will have more time to experiement and take risks on ideas such as Nansohi's which difficult because they unfamiliar to me. I apoligised to Nanoshi by email and I am also appoligizing to her here for not completing her items at this time. Maybe compiler will help also on making Nanoshi's products ready for market place. I am too slow making the SummerWearOne package promo material. I appoligise for this also. I have had a lot come up in the last 24 hours. Its all good news, but it has pulled me away from working for a spell. I will be working on the promomaterial approximately 12 hours from now. Riddokun, uvmapping is very difficult to get things layed out as well as I do. There is always going to be some twisting or bending somewhere on a model that you don't like. There is always a process of give and take, that is you get one thing, but you loose another with all maps. I have been laying my maps out so that general purpose maps will work well. I know they are difficult to paint lines on because of the uvmap is flat and the actual model has all sorts of twists and bends and sometimes unions between two meshes. One thing you will notice about all my uvmaps is that I use a checker patern extensively while setting them up. That is, if you put a checker patern on the clothing, the checker pattern will flow the way you would expect. Where the fabric becomes more narrow as near sleeves, the checker patern will get more dense like fabric would, where the fabric stretches wide around hips for instance, the checker pattern will grow as if stretched. This is my goal in uvmapping. I will look at the uvmaps from the objects that you ask me to look. But my way is not a wrong way to do it, but it is only one way. Riddokun, you must understand that uvmapping is like modeling in reverse...after you are done with your model, its a process of taking it appart again. If you want to make major changes in the uvmaps that I have set up, it can take days or even weeks to get them right sometimes. I have to get my products done on a timely bases. Look into 3dpainting software for making lines or templets for complex textures, thats the best advise I can give you. marty

insomniaworks posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 8:22 PM

Very nice Render Grim, that is how I first intended to use the swimsuit, to be worn with other clothing such as skirts or skater pants, like in the picture I first posted in forum thread number 5.

Riddokun posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 8:34 PM

insomnia yes i understand that uvmappin is an art on itself (say let see bijouchat v2 to mayadoll remapping.; was quite a task, indeed) anyway as i said, your "out of rhino" mesh maps were so far theonly ones liek that i ever saw till now. and i can say that if (with my lame skills) try to make a patterned texture and want the patterns not to be broken at seams/boundaries, it is just a hell to me so far. i don't have software slike deeppaint, i do all i can by hand... i remember how i had hard time making my strawberry suits early, or more recently making for examle tank top perfectly seamed versions of my kolitexture package... and in fact, those clothes were very easy for the texturer, regarding their mapping god the fact is i insist so much is because so far, the products i bought from you (as the minidress, the first, for me) are so cool i really would like to make good textures but not be lazy and just let seamed/flawed ones... gues si have to work harder before i can harness/handle rhino mapped meshes... as for the hentai debate, well as i said i was sorry to push the issue so far here, i wrote an im to nanoshi for further exchange in private about this. But well, i am very sensitive and reacting very fast with some matters...

-Yggdrasil- posted Thu, 06 May 2004 at 10:29 PM

I don't think any less of you if you decide to build hentai-type materials, landscapes or rocket flames. It's all the same to me (well, you know what I mean). Sex sells. The Gallery is just a small indication of that. ^_^

Nia, there is nothing wrong with marketing more sexual items,it doesn't make you some kind of perv or anything, and i wouldn't think any less of you for making them. i think they would sell very well. depending on the naughtiness of it however,i don't think it should have as much coverage about it in the forum like your other products. just my humble opinion. Grim, i tried the tailor on the last dress i made for v3 nothing on the dress worked after that,it just screwed the whole thing up,and i had to start over. D...D....D :0)

Yeah I appologise for starting a debate about anime classifications etc. on another note though I bought the 'Helsing' series the other day, I like that one alot, set in London too which was fun to see. and Alucard is one cool dude. would be cool to make a model of him, I might have a go at it, but don't hold any breaths :) I tried to make some Clothing the other day based on the Final Fantasy FX stuff after D/L Ygg's Yuna model was intrigued to see what she was wearing. I started to make the micro mini her fiend with the swords was wearing, it didn't turn out bad, but i am unsure as to how one makes a tight fitting waitband on such clothing. Anyone watch Cowboy Beebop? I was looking at Faye Valentines outfit too that's a nice one to make.

He provided him picture sof halucard, of the "'harkonnen" gun of Celas victoria and such. after all, as my friend said, it is just the hand of fate if the popular poser character is named victoria, and the guy who made a cool swat suit is named harkonnen :) he could not let him go away with it :)

Marty : as I said in a recent IM, I got a swimsuit version with non functional JCM. Could you send me the latest version so that I can start working on promo pics this week-end ? Nanoshi : Marty hinted that you could use some help in finalising items. If it is the case and you think I can help, I'm all yours. Ridokkun : "The forbidden city" falls into the adult anime genre, with sex scenes (with daemons and such), but I wouldn't label it Hentai. We just don't have that kind of films in occident, that's why we have a hard time figuring out what they are exactly. Marty : I'm not that sure that "sex sells". There are no sex items in the Top20. There are textures, fetish clothes, but nothing suited for Renderotica. If you do explicitly sexual items, you'd run the risk of getting a bad rep. Sexy surely sells (otherwise why would we see so many girls in bikini trying to sell us cars ?), but you can always make "sexy promo pics". I mean, the swimsuit you're working on can be textured to look like a sports wetsuit or a fetish latex leotard. I wonder if MayaDoll is a good candidate to carry on sexyness. She is not realistic enough. May be you could concentrate on the AnimeDoll, which is still in the top 20. As for sexy in the anime genre, well we already have miniskirted schoolgirl uniforms and maid outfits, the bunny outfit with your catsuit, and there are bustiers, fetish leotards and fetishic clothes in the MP. A japanese gym outfit could be nice, or cheongsam dress (china dress). You could also make a Ninja accesories pack or a cyborg outfit. Or a Bubblegum crisis like suit. Or a really cool SF motorcycle. Or SF weapons ? As for improving sales, have you considered selling at other stores ?

Nanoshi posted Fri, 07 May 2004 at 10:50 AM

hehehe I got a Ninja suit and accessories in the pipeline, been working on cyberlimbs too and a Knight Sabres powersuit is still my ultimate goal. I actually started work on a full powersuit outfit, but not got too far with it yet. I also discovered City of Heroes MMORPG which I been playing a bit these last few weeks whilst I been recouperating. I could churn out some weapons packs too now I got a better grip of Rhino. I also started work on a bathroom scene compleate with shower cubicle for those shower scenes ;) But these are the kinds of projects that Marty needs time to work on, and at the moment he's trying to keep his head above the water so to speak. I do think it would be cool to look at some of the clothes that characters such as Yuna from Fimal Fantasy and her friends wear and maybe things like from Cowbot Bebop etc. and make some clothes along those lines. I don't know what it is about anime clothes but they are subtly styled different enough to real world clothes to warrent some attention. as for help finalizing some products I'll have a dig around and see what needs doing, I have made so much stuff in Rhino now it's unreal.

Nanoshi, Faye Valentines outfit would be great! how about q hair model based on IRIA? Compiler: the link to the working CR2 was near the bottom of the previuos thread :) a long cheongsam would be cool, there was a freebie for a short one, and it looks ok, I modified the uvmap (as well as my skills allow) to take the textures from the dress insomnia did. DDD: I'm still trying to remeber how I conquered that problem with Nia (mgpt figure). But I swear the only way I could do it was morph it down to PT then use tailor to transfer the morhs from nia to the clothes. One of the things that I've noticed tho. Tailor does better if the morphs are going from smaller to larger, not the other way around

The head part reminds me of putting complicated symbols on Doll. I say we run with this idea of anime clothing. We have lots of realistic-type clothing, but I see not many anime clothing items. I mean, honestly, that's what put me here in the first place. Your Bondage Fairy and Sailor Suit clothes, although sadly missing from the Marketplace now, are awesome stuff. Here we have Anime Doll with... jeans? t-shirts? maid dresses? All nice, but not quite what people expect to see. A good case in point (and shameless plug) would be Anime Fantasy Study #004. I've come to the conclusion that it'll take me awhile to learn how to model clothing, so I have to make do with what you wonderful people provide. One of these days, I've really got to learn to model clothes... -_-

Hi 3D True. I made a pic with your Ninka suit. It's quite good, but I had to tweak a bit : -changing triangles for quadrangles -resizing it a bit (the top half was a bit too high placed for Anime Doll) -mapping it There are still a couple of this to work on it, mainly the way the polygons join at the various body parts. What program did you make it in ? Anyway, you're off to a good start. I wish to see more of your work in the future.

Yes this thread is no longer a single tipic thread since thread number 3. The Car That 3d Modeling Built ------------------------------ Here is what has been distracting me the last few days. I just got my car back after 3 weeks in the shop getting a new engine. I hadn't had this car running in over a year and a half and just got it fixed, thanks to procedes from 3dmodeling. It is an 87 Celica GT Convertable, very rare car now. I am doing all sorts of fun stuff to it like simple mods and lighting, sound system, detailing, looking for rims and tires. Rims and Tires are going to set me back another $1000, so I need to bring my sales back up. So, I have taken a few days off to play with my "new" car, shoot me!! also... I am sort of lost, who needs an repaired cr2 for what item? I uploaded a improved cr2 for the Wetstuit-Swimsuit in the last thread. marty

thanks for welcome. why convert to quads? is there a benefit to this?

compiler posted Sun, 09 May 2004 at 5:56 AM

Quadrangles have 2 advantages over triangles : 1-They bend better when morphed or deformed 2-Poser handles them much better, especially (but not exclusively) for P5 toon shaders.

Riddokun posted Sun, 09 May 2004 at 7:42 AM

hmm well after the "what for", the "how".. how to convert to quadrangle ? and anyway, if you do so, i guess that previous MT made for triangle-versin of mesh won't work... anyway it must look like rhino and its mesh in insomnia work's mapping. that explain why his clothes as less problem than others. btw compiler you speak abotu p5 toon shader, but how about p4 cartoon/wline mode ? (it is really a world on its own regarding "3d rules" as far as i noticed)

compiler posted Sun, 09 May 2004 at 8:39 AM

You can build clothes in quadrangles from the start. It's an option in most 3D modelers. To convert, you can either use a 3D modeler, or a little script named "detriang" in the freestuff, by Anthony Appleyard. Of course, you lose the morphs (and may be the mapping ?), but in the case of 3Dtrue's suit there were neither. As for P4 cartoon w/line, I don't use it. The toon shaders are much more versatile (let you use procedural textures, trans, texture maps, bump, displacement...). It speeds up the process to just make a render and you're done. For the rest, postworking can do wonders.

i often saw a strange behavior/bug with mayadoll / animedoll and clothes. had to explain, i launched a thread long ago and even reported the bug to maya. uually this is what happens, you pose the character with cloths, and if you turn the body, or move any part (finger, hand, limb, torso, etc) the cloth will soon be distrored but if you move the same dial just sligthly more it goes again correctly and then continue moving the dial further it bugs again. intermitent/alternative bug on/off. had not seen it for a while (because i guess i inconsciently make anything to avoid it now) but if it reproduces again, i send a sample. maybe thi is the problem you experiment

-Yggdrasil- posted Mon, 10 May 2004 at 10:14 AM

Yeah, Poser is kind of buggy like that. Especially when you use the "Posing Camera". If you rotate some things exactly 180 degrees on the Y axis, they tend to disform also. Usually a render will look normal, but the workspace is a jumbled mess. There are times however that the actual item of clothing (most likely suspect) will be jumbled as well in the render, but that's unlikely (in the cases I've seen it).

Riddokun posted Mon, 10 May 2004 at 12:01 PM

The next thread launched in this series will appear in the Developers forum. This will solve the problems. Apparently our threads are causing a flood and burrying other listings. We belong in the developers forum and should have been there for some time probably and I appolize for that. Riddikun and 3dtrue: I have noticed a little chatter over a problem that I am very familiar with. It is what we developers, lol, call an "Explosion!" I don't know exactly why it happens in the first place, but I have a cure. Adjust you body part to where the explosion occurs open up the joint editor. Make sure the part that is exploding is selected and then select the direction of the bend that is offending in the list of movements. Change the number for the center by adding another digit and making it a 1. Like instead of 000 you will make it 0001. You will see the exposiong going back to normal before as soon as you add the digit. This change will be way to molecular to effect the posing behavior. I type all this from memorie with out looking at poser menus so if you need something further explained more clearly, I will do so. marty

I will finish the swimsuit over the next few days, but I am not making any promises. Afterwards, I am going to go in a new direction to recapture a secure place in the Rosity Top Sellers. Riddokun: Move the joint until the group explodes. make sure you have the group selected who's movement makes the other group explode. (many times its the same group) Open up the Joint Editor - (you must be using PPP) Select the offending movement in the first box (bend for instance) There will be 3 boxes with center points Add a digit to the end of one of those numbers, I sugest one for minimal adjustment This will make the exposion go back to normal if not tweek until it works but keep your adjustments very small by adding another digit afterwards, exit the joint editor and save the figure again. I just looked over your maps for Jewel and I am very impressed. I am impressed with both the size and detail. Your map looks first rate to me. I had to scale down those body maps to run on my old computer lol. I guess its time to upgrade. Here is an important issue. The eyes are a mirror images of one another. I mean the reflections should not be mirror images. The reflections will be show the location of lights in the room or location and will not be in opposition on either eye. Being a photographer my self, I often look at the eyes to of photographs to judge what type and position of lights being used. Your eyes tell of two opposing light sets - impossible in real life. This is only my sugestion, but I would sugest scaling her head up some more. I set her head at 113% and it looked better to me and I think it reflect the porportions of a young adult better. I guess it my be because I have worked with animedoll so much that v3 looks small. But my artist eye tells me that v3's head is just too small as a default. I have run it thru all the MAT poses and they all worked fine mechanically. I didn't open them up with an editor though, but they passed the usage test. Just make sure they read version 4. In conclusion, the only thing that is outstanding and needs to be fixed is the eyes which is a simple task. Other than that, she looks great and I don't see any reason that this should not be a great seller! marty

-Yggdrasil- posted Wed, 12 May 2004 at 4:34 AM

Riddokun: Like all of my previous efforts to model something (all two of them), this one is much better in the way it's built. Each piece is a whole seperate object. That means the Iris is one whole object, the Pupil is one whole object, the individual Speculer pieces are a whole object in and of themselves. That's how I got them to morph. That also means that each one is able to be textured seperately. That means you can do just as you suggest, making the Highlight part semi-transparent, along with it's border if you wish (yes, there is one, and it lies right beneath that Highlight). I'll render and show a picture soon of the different pieces in layers of transparencies right after I do this idea I was just thinking of while typing this. I made the big Highlight part and that little circle the same material zone, but now I'm gonna seperate the two. Name that actual part "Highlight". Also thinking about actually rebuilding (that means from scratch, not a morphed-up copy) my AnimeEye5 set (cat eyes). Another thing I'm going to do is make the eye completely round and let the end-user (that's you) scale it as it needs to be. I think that's the most flexible idea all-round. select all / copy

Nanoshi posted Wed, 12 May 2004 at 6:57 AM

Ygg / Riddo we always improve everytime we go back to the modeller and try again, so he will only get better. But the eye he has modelled is for his Sailor Scouts, and if you look at screen shots from that series, they do have these 'stupidly' large speculars with what I would say are trade mark lines coming off at an angle. normally anime eyes aren't so exaggerated as this. So as the eye goes towards anime eyes they don't fit the generic look but as regards Sailor Scouts eyes, I think he has almost got it bang on. But as you suggested he still needs to work a little bit more on them to perfect them. problem I see with them at the moment is they are 'too white' if that makes sense, in the cartoon they have a shiney wet look about them, but at the moment in poser they are too matt. I have no idea how you could go about correcting this little thing though, maybe try 2 material zones on the speculars and through shades of pale grey maybe achieve it, or one material solid one transparent? just quick suggestions would need to look a little deeper at it to see what works. on your old 'disc' vesrion, they used to seem a little too 'glowy' for my tastes, but maybe combining them a little might work? Also Riddokun makes some nice anime eyes for Maya as you know, maybe a similar technique for the speculars but maintaining the sailor moon trademark speculars? just my 2 penny's but I think you have captured the sailor moon shape very well.

Here's the link to the eyes I made, you will have to install them yourself in the right directories.

The .obj file goes in the Geometries > StudioMaya > Anime folder, right next to those other wonderful eyes we all know so well. I'd recommend, although you can put them anywhere you want to, you put the other files (.pp2 and .png) into the same directory you have the other eyes at. You'd notice they are #6 on the list, #5 being the cat eyes (I may soon re-do once I get something with Wings3D straightened out).

Don't forget that the eyes are morphable into 5 different default configurations (so far). I'm working on re-working the materials on the eye, like I said, so this is not that version. This is the one you all see so far. ^_^

(Just back from the stage, and seeing your beautiful picture before I hit the sack). On second though, I think you're right about he head size, but it does seem small to me compared to the waist and hips. I think that what causes this feeling is that she has a very youthful face, which would call for a youthfull body, and thus a less wide hip and waist (just the x scale, the rest is perfect). But it could just be me having some sort of "standard" in my eyes (or having played too much with animedoll). I mean : there is no fault here, no anatomy error. It is probably just a matter of taste : I have already had this feeling with V3. Good Night. "See" you tomorrow.

nanoshi: well i may had not explained what i meant correctly. i will post a "postworked" picture of what i meant (cause i am no modellist) so you and ygg can seewhat i had in mind. anyway it is true, some anime series (such as sailormoon) have exaggerated speculars, but well, maybe not as much s here (as far as i can recall). if you want i can build a whole samplelibrary of anime eyes i can find out in my stuff so you can browse through many different styles. as for the chibi anime doll, maya on his animedoll forum let out some samples of a child version fo anime doll (with clothes) and it seemed good, but so far we have no words of this project. i did try to make VERY crude and basic resizing myselfs (using the x/y/x % dials, no morph) as it will be able to carry out same settings to clothes too, but poses files do not carry otu the info. so maybe global magnets after that... no no no do not use the innate "character scaling" ability of poser .It was meant for use with native figures. try out on anime doll or mayadoll and you'll have something to feed your nigthmares... you won't end up with a child but a rosweell ! btw someoen was talking abou my eyes ? sorry but i didn't do ani eyes for the animedoll, as for cartoon use it requires to model myself (and i do not know).

Hi 3DZ. I've tested your little jewel all evening long (it's 1:00 here... Yaaaawn). Here is a pure Poser5 render with no postwork whatsoever (I plan to make a postworked version for my gallery). The pack unzips nicely. The only surprise was that there was no read me, but I expect this will be fixed in the final version. Everything loads smoothly in Poser 5, from the INJ and REM poses to every MAT file. There are no deformations in the various poses I've tested. The clothes conform well to her. The only issue is that she is scaled to 85% of V3 scale, so may be you could provide a pose to adjust the clothing to this scale (and also to the narrow hips). On a more subjective topic, I like her forms very much and she can portray women from late teens (as demontsrated in your pic above) to late twenties (which is the look I tried to acheive here).

Here is a face close-up. The face seems a bit long because of the 50mm focal length I used. The textures are really great at close up !

Another one at 100mm focal length, again unretouched render (save for the added background). Don't blame me for the lack of expression : I don't have V3's expression pack yet, so it's just V3's base expression : Jewel in herself has a very pretty face, even with nothing added. Oh, and the jewellry (as seen on the first picture) is a very nice bonus ! Best wishes, and thanks for letting me have a good time with your Jewel. (PS : I haven't spotted obvious seams problems in the texture. I'll check this again tomorrow).

Wow!,thanks for all the images Compiler I'm very glad your having so much fun with her (the v3 head morph pak has an expressions folder :0)) Yes ,the readme is included in the final package...lol I started it after I gave the first package to you testers. I didn't think it was neccesary for testing. I did that whole clothing adjustment thing with my Allissa package and it was a nightmare! so this time all I'm doing is putting fit instructions in the readme. maybe I'll make a fit file free pack, like with Allissa. I already have one freebie for the pack,it's a belly ring that matches Jewel's jewelry,I may make earrings also :0) The3dZone
