I'm just bringing this to you as a FYI. ================== First ever Bookjobber.com writing contest! First Prize $100.00 USD Second Price $50.00 USD Third Prize $25.00 USD Writing contest for Science Fiction short stories between 7500 and 15000 words. Original plot lines only. Published and unpublished authors welcome. Submissions must be received by midnight May 15th 2004. 10 finalists will be announced on June 15th 2004 3 winners will be announced on September 1st 2004 Winners will be paid using Pay Pal or a check will be mailed by September 15, 2004. Authors retain rights to their original work, however, by entering contest, they agree that if selected as a top ten finalist, they will make their work available for free download @ Bookjobber.com for 4 month period (until midnight December 31, 2004). All stories submitted must be original story lines (no fan fiction) and all rights must be owned by the author. All works must be previously unpublished. Submission Guidelines Submit email to alanhood@bookjobber.com with subject: Contest Entry Form. Attach the first 3 chapters or first 2500 words in RTF format. Include cover page as part of the document with the following information: Author name Title Word Count Email Address 10 finalists will be selected by the staff of BOOKJOBBER.com. Finalists will be notified and will be asked to submit complete manuscript for our panel of Judges to read and select 3 winners. Failure to provide a complete manuscript by July 1, 2004, will result in removal from the competition. Only one submission per author will be accepted. If you wish to withdraw from the competition for any reason please let us know as soon as possible. In the event a finalist is withdrawn from the competition (prior to August 1) an alternative will be selected. If a winner is withdrawn, the prize monies will be forfeited and no alternative will be selected. By submitting an entry, you agree to all BOOKJOBBER.com Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Judging Guidelines The 10 finalist will have their complete manuscript read by a panel of Science Fiction writers and readers. Judges' decisions are final.
