hey all. i'm thinking about starting a 3D movie festival specifically for poser/daz/vue/bryce. figure the timespan would be months to complete a 3-5 minute movie using these programs to render (model in whatever program you like.) i figure if everyone paid a $5 entry fee, it would make it worth it for the winner, based on the votes of their peers. i'd like to keep it really simple: a short film about whatever you want, using an original voice and music track, and then submit before the deadline. i'll host the site and people can view the movies without knowing the author. winner would get all the prize money as well as bragging rights, but everyone involved would gain understanding of these programs and their capabilities. winner would be based on how their story was written, quality of the animation and sound, and overall professionalism. anyone interested?

I'll keep it under consideration.. Not entirely sure just yet, but it definately sounds like a good idea.

good deal! i'm also going to ask merchants to sponsor this contest. maybe donate a prop or cd collection of props or textures to the winner. i'm going to start building the site very soon. thanks!

hey all! i'm going to federal agent training for 4 months. it'll be a few weeks before i'm back on the boards here. in the meantime, think about your animation entry. it should showcase talking, action, non-action (standing or sitting or dying... something where small movements make it realistic) and an original track for sounds, not from another movie. i'll have a site up soon specifically for these entries. until then, happy rendering!
