Does anyone know how tall all the Poser people are in feet or meters? And I mean ALL the people - not just Vicki and Mike. Default size & scale of course. Vicki 2 Vicki 3 Mike 2 Mike 3 Steph Steph 3 PT PS Judy Don Posette/Eve Dork Maya Doll Alexa Sara Koshi... Well you get my drift, lol! :] Fish

Vickie 3 is 5' 11 3/4", by most accounts. Vickie 1 & 2 are the same, I think Ingenue Vickie is 5' 2 3/4" (by far the smallest "adult" figure) Glamorous Vickie is 6', exactly Stephanie Petite is 5' 5 1/2" The Posette is/was 5' 8" The GIRL is currently 5' 7" (Who???) I don't do metric, but there are 2.54 cm to an inch, ;-)

I thought SP3 was 5 foot two or three. I'm sure I've read this somewhere! Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

So your working on the GIRL, Jim ? Nice news !

Using the convention that: 1 foot = 0.125 poser units (a "box" prop scaled to 125% would be a cubic foot) 1 meter = 0.410 poser units (a "box" prop scaled to 41% would be 10 cubic centimeters) I imported the obj files for some figures and measured them using my "Ultimate Callipers" (available in the Rosity Free Stuff). Here are the (approximate) heights I got: P4NudeWom.obj (P4 Nude Woman) 5 foot 7 and 15/16 inches. blNudeMan_Gen.obj (P4 Nude Man) 6 foot and 7/32 inches. blVickiP4.obj (Vicki P4) 5 foot 7 and 29/32 inches blMilWom.obj (Victoria) 5 foot 10 and 25/32 inches. blMilMan.obj (Mike) 6 foot and 14/16 inches. dsiDina.obj (Dina) 5 foot 7 and 3/16 inches

I go with les's system. To measure anything in poser, I just scale the box prop to the same height as the figure, (you must always use the Front Camera to judge this), then calculate the size. It's very easy to do in Poser. A box prop scaled to 1000% = 96 inches, 8 feet, or 1 Poser Unit If your box next to vicki is scaled to 750% (rough guess), then 750 x 96 = 72,000 or 72 inches Now Daz Studio quite sensibly uses centimeters, which is very convenient. I haven't bothered checking human figure sizes, but I do know that my own models check out perfectly comparing my calculations with DS centeimeters. mac

Dr. Geep has written extensively about this..there's even a tutorial or three out there..I think you can find the measurement tutorial at fallencity.net (Crescent's site). It's in PDF

True, pakled. Geep's tute is excellent. But he used a slightly different system (his DGS system) to make life easier for non-mathematical types. He bases everything on a Poser Unit of 100 inches, which is easier, being decimal, but doesn't match the measurements in other apps. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Anyway, it's been discussed a million times and everybody eventually agreed to disagree in the end. mac

true..true..I wasn't going to get into that..if a character doesn't line up.. that's what I use the 'scale' function for..;)

intersting btw would there be an even approximative way of measuring the others dimensions (hip, waist, etc) ? maybe with a disc prop, scaled and put to fit in the part you want to measure, then get the ellpise/disk circunference
Jim Burton posted Mon, 10 May 2004 at 4:38 PM
There is supposed to be a plugin for Max that can do that, there was a thread here about a year ago that had some measurements made using it. If I remember V3 was something like 42 28 39 ;-)
