I know this question might have been better suited for the 3D software forums but I wanted to get info from some of you who are familiar with modeling for poser. I am looking for a way to make something like a cargo pocket on a vest modeled with Sub d's. So far the old faithful extrude face option is not producing quality results. All I end up with is something that looks like a can of spam attached to my otherwise normal looking vest. I must admit this is my first foray into the world of Sub D's I am much more comfortable with poly modeling. Software used is 3D Studio Max if anyone has any software specific hints to offer.

Subdivide some more (aka extrude twice). A cargo pocket basically IS a box; it's a box that's been folded in on three sides. Then subdivide again to give it some crunch and crease and variety.

Ok, I see what you mean there, how about the flap? Pocket looks decent but back to the old Can-O-spam on the flap... Since the flap has almost no depth it is being more of a pain since the multiple extrusions aren't as useful.
