Looking very nice!
Edw, will it be possible to "rearrange" the stalls, slide the stall doors, having feeders as separate objects?
Can it be used in comercial renders?
movida posted Fri, 14 May 2004 at 7:49 AM
That is absolutely wonderful - I'm speechless...bet you never thought you'd hear that lmao

This looks great. When are you going to have it available?
mondoxjake posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 10:22 AM
I need to know the exact minute this goes up for grabs...I want to get it free b4 you realize the commercial value something like this might have! A very nice and detailed model, excellent work.

Looks really great in C4D, but all those small rounded surfaces are gonna translate into a gazillion polygons when converted to mesh. Still... it sure is BEAUTIFUL!
Tiny posted Sat, 15 May 2004 at 1:13 PM
Good point there mondoxjake! ;o)

EXCELLENT, Ed! Not too many people would think to leave the smoothing to Poser (which it does quite well) Good to see that you can control the mesh conversion in C4D - I'd like to see more people manage their meshes this well! Now I can really hardly wait for the final model!!

Looks very, very good! Things you may want to add: muck rake and place to hang it, and some pegs on a wall for hanging tack, lead ropes, and such.

"Ooooooo...this is looking just GREAT ! Can't wait to see the finished work. Eeer...whats the flooring like ? Do we have loose straw floors for inside the stalls ?

Well, it's not the barn.... but I thought this might give some of you something to play with:) The stall front is a figure with the rest of the pieces parented to it. It is mapped, but I didn't include them in the zip Hope you find this somewhat useful Edronstuff posted Sun, 16 May 2004 at 1:30 PM
Thanks Ed! It looks great in Poser.

Stone? Brick? It would wash clean and wouldn't buckle under moisture.
movida posted Mon, 17 May 2004 at 10:42 PM
the stalls would be dirt with straw or wood shavings bedding - a mare with a foal would get straw; horses shouldn't be housed on concrete or brick or asphalt etc., very bad for legs/feet (like seriously bad)
the aisles would be either dirt, concrete or brick - all the large barns I've ever seen were any of the above -
Thank you so much Ed - if only I could house my real live horses this well :)

The barn and stalls are available at my site. I didn't put all the stalls together for you:) gotta leave something for you to do... @movida... This is actually what my own barn looks like.. we used wood chips almost exclusively for bedding... easier to clean up and dispose of than straw:)freyfaxi posted Tue, 18 May 2004 at 2:06 AM
