Argh, nothing seems to be going right for me today...sorry to bother you with a few questions. ; - Has anyone gotten Play With Poser's Anime Doll Victoria Construction set to work correctly (the AD head on a Victoria body)? I follow the directions very carefully, but in the end, all I end up with is a neck when I load the CR2. (??) I think I'm misunderstanding exactly what checkboxes he wants used when exporting the OBJs, but I've tried a number of combinations so far with no luck. - I remember someone mentioning that a GOOD book for learning Poser came out...does anyone happen to remember what the exact title of it is? A friend of mine in Nigeria would like to know, and I don't want to recommend that other book that everyone says to stay away from. ;) I just also wanted to see if there was anyone who might like working together on an image that I started a while back too. It's kind of violent, but if you like my other fantasy fight scenes and think it might be fun to finish one together, please let me know. I'm kind of bored making images myself anyway. :) Thanks very much in advance for any help. Take care. SnowS

The good book, I think, is by Bloodsong aka B.L. Render: Secrets of Figure Creation with Poser 5

I've tried the Anime doll/Victoria kit, this are the settings I used when exporting the Obj files, the readme doesn't say to check off any of the other options.

I do have a weird problem, when I load the VicAnimedoll cr2 this is what I get, this is cause by a morph on the cr2 called Janim that is set to 1, when I set it to 0 the body looks ok I'm not sure if the morph is needed, maybe someone that has done it correctly can help.

Thank you Dialyn, I will look at that book and let my friend know. :) Dash, I tried those settings and got pretty much what you did in your second example...except now she has NO neck. Only a neck or no neck, it just doesn't want to give me it all. ;) SnowS

Check if you are exporting all thre props (head, neck and body) for the final OBJ. I kept trying other settings and managed to get the Janim FBM working, first are the settings I used to export the V2 body and on the bottom are the settings I used to export the final props, these are the results I got, the neck is a little weird and when I bend the body some seams get separated, I think it has something to do with the weld body parts settings. Anyways keep trying you'll get it soon :)

Cant help with the first two, but Im game for helping finish a picture. Probably dont have the models youre using. Using P4. Nowhere near your caliber. Only available a few hours a day. But if no one else bites, IM me.

I wouldn't recomend Bloodsong's book to learn poser with, its more an advanced book for content and figure makers. But if you already know the program well enough to render with, and want to start making stuff then its THE book to read. I'm beginning to think I should convert my Poser 4 and 5 online classes to e-book format. Avoid ANYTHING by Mortier ..he's a terrible writer.

As always...Yes, do avoid the Mortier book!! I might be worth 1/10th the outrageous price it costs, but even that is doubtful. I don't have the name off the top of my head but have heard there is a book slanted for Poser Pro Pack that is a pretty good one, and covers things that work as well with Poser 4. Hope this jogs some response for you from someone who knows the one I mean!

Thank you for your help so far, I appreciate it. I'll try making the Anime Doll hybrid one more time with those settings Dash...hopefully the neck will behave this time. :) Thanks also for the information on the Poser book, that should be enough to point my friend in the right direction. Xenic, I do actually use the most recent figures (V3, M3, etc.), and now that I'm entered in Fergeson's fantasy contest, I'm finding I don't even have time to work on my own personal images. I do only average two or three pics a year anyway. ;) Thanks a lot though and I hope you can find time to finish up some new images soon too! Take care. SnowS
