I am running P4 and have all the updates, a couple of months ago, I to delete my entire poser file and start over. Now when I try to set my preference using the edit button section, it still goes back to the basically the default. The cameras, and such all change, but the basic screen still pops up. I have changed the setting on the preference menu back and forth and still no luck. It gets a irratating to have to change things around each time I want to use poser Thanks Butch

had that same problem when i was running poser 4 with updates. I went in, did a complete uninstall and reinstalled everything from fresh, rebooted, installed the updates, rebooted, then loaded a few of my files * props figures etc* then rebooted again, then loaded some more...wash rinse repeat until done. its a pain, but got mine working right finally. hope that helps

Is your copy MetaCreations or CL? Try deleting the shortcut to open Poser, and making a new one. Works everytime for me.

Did you uninstall Poser, then delete anything left in the Poser folder? You really should not just delete a program. If you didn't delete the folder after install, you really didn't change anything. Poser is weird that way. Once you've reinstalled, you want to right-click on the shortcut you use to run Poser, then choose Properties. change the "start in" section to reflect where the Poser program exists. Start Poser. Then set it up the way you want. Go to Edit Preferences, click the apporpiate choices. Then click a UI dot to make it final. Close Poser, then run it again. Bet it works right now.

You should NOT have to delete any folders! Check the file "preferredState.pz3" in; .Poser 4RuntimePREFSpreferredState.pz3 and make sure it is not write protected (Read-only).

I'll be darned! I've set the 'prefered state' hundreds of times. The viewing window is the right size and empty, but the UI was still in the default position. Deleted the shortcut, made a new one, opened poser, put every thing where I wanted it, set the prefered state, closed poser. Opened poser back up, everything was in the right place! How's that work?
