I take it from my recent struggles that Viki and Victoria are not the same character?
MoneLisa posted Wed, 26 May 2004 at 3:10 AM
it depends. Vicky and Victoria are the same figure, but there are 3 versions.
Kelderek posted Wed, 26 May 2004 at 3:14 AM
The correct name is Victoria, Vicky is just a nickname referring to any of the Victoria versions. There are, as MoneLisa says, three versions. Victoria 1 and 2 are the same mesh (same obj file), the only difference is that Victoria 2 has more morphs. Victoria 3 is an entirely new figure with a new mesh.

Dang.... Well can anyone tell me where to find good V3 clothes... ahem... for free? Thanks E V S

It depends... Do you have Poser 5? In that case SVDL has made some great free dynamic clothes for V3. They're available at PlanIt3D There really isn't a lot free clothes for V3 anywhere. ISO has some I think and possibly other of the japanese Poser artists, though they use V2 more than V3 it seems. I think there is a little for free at Poser World too, worth a look :o) For more links, go here: MY BOOKMARKS (this link can also be downloaded as a htm file and imported to your browser's favourites)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

I haven't seen that many free V3 clothes... Poserfashion has some (www.poserfashion.net) good ones. Look for conforming ones in the Poser 4 section of the site and dynamic clothing in the Poser 5 section. I also think there is a nice morphing top for free at RunTimeDNA (www.runtimedna.com) DAZ has a lot of good V3 clothes at a reasonable price if you're a Platinum Club member (which is a good thing to be anyway) PhilC has a clothing set for V3 at a good price too (www.philc.net).

Thanks for the info. It's greatly appreciated. I am cancer victim living off government subsidy so I have to make due with the free stuff. I am getting damn good at altering stuff in Lightwave. Can't texture map it but I can fake it pretty good... Thanks again E V S

Lightwave has the option to export as .obj, so if you export then load the model into uv mapper, you can create a texture map for your model and work from there.

If you can afford The Tailor (available at DAZ3d.com), there is a tutorial to convert most Victoria 2 clothing to Victoria 3. It won't have all the fancy morphs but at least she will have something to wear. There are tons of free Victoria 2 (V2) clothing here and elsewhere.
