Here's my 2nd entry, hope you like it :o) I've answered the questions below: a) How do you think the blurring in this photo contribute to what you were trying to show? Same as my first entry picture; the dreamy look :o) b) How did you implement and control the blurring? I locked the focus and took the shoot while keeping it 'soft focussed'. c) Did you plan the blurring from the camera (even if you may have actually implemented the effect in postwork)? Yes, i did a little bit of extra blurring around the sharp object and a bit of contrast adjustment. d) Do you think you've achieved what you were trying to do? What would you do better? Yes, i have achieved in what i was trying to do.

"Yes, i have achieved in what i was trying to do." Yes, you most certainly did... I really love the shallow depth of field in this..... beautifully dreamy.

I am, therefore I create.......

Macro shots provide a small DOF by definition; the aperture and the surface of the lense are in comparison much larger than the object, so it is as if the round border of your lense looks around (and even behind!) the object. The composition is really nice although I would suggest to get your object out of the centre by putting it for example right under, making it a little more dynamic. You've made quite a name here on RR, because your macro shots are terrific with outstanding quality. Jan-Carel P.S.

Thanks Jan-Carel !! I have made a name here ? wow ! proud :D Thanks for the link too, i'll look. But i have to say that i wasnt sure what to do, centre it or not. I do know that its often better to not centre things, but in this case i conciously decided to centre it anyway... but thanks for you input. :o) Many thanks, Jeroen

LOL With a little scrolling I can center in on my screen :) This is definitely a challenge forum! I love this kind of fun! verrry big smile

I guess that next try will result in the best balance you've ever found, just like the swing taking it's position right between the extremes.

Vroeger zeide ze op school met een stempeltje: Ga zo door!
