I'm using Poser 5 here, and I'm trying to figure out how to make an object glow so that it sheds light on surrounding objects. For example, I have a lightbulb covered by a lampshade. I would like to (A) make the bulb cast light (as per a 60-75 watt perhaps), and (B) set the proper translucency (not transparency) of the lampshade. It seems like these should be possible with the right material room nodes. I am overwhelmed by the vast possibilities of the nodes (and the insufficient details)! I've searched through numerous tutorials and the Forum archives, but i've found no solutions.
Presently, i'm using Les Bentley's OmniLight (available in his Freestuff) which has been excellent(!) for creating an approximation of pointlights. I've set the OmniLight within the bulb, which works fine so far. And i've JUST NOW connected the Translucent Color node to the Color Texture....this seems to be providing some promising results.
Additional informed tweak suggestions would be appreciated.
