I don't have a problem to ask about....which is a nice change...lol. Everyone on here seems pretty cool so I have a question for y'all. What kind of computer setup do you have and what programs do you use? And I guess it would be best that only people who are happy with their setup respond....lol. I have idea's of where I want to go with my artwork in the future, but it is a pretty broad spectrum and there is a lot of different programs out there. I'm also interested to know what your render times are like for complex scenes, based on your hardware. Thanks in advance!! P.S. My setup is: PowerMac G5, 1.6Ghz single proc, 1.5GB DDR333 Running OSX 10.2.8 Apple 20 inch Cinema Display Vue d'Esprit 4.1

Heheehehheeee.... I really need to boiler-plate this... Athlon 64 3000+ GIgabyte K8VNXP mobo. 1.5 gig PC-3200 DDR ram Win2k SP2 XP2k lite 1.2 EVGA Geforce 4 TI-4400, latest drivers 540 gigs across 5 HDD (4 PATA, 1 SATA) Sony DVD-+ burner 19" Envision CRT monitor (usually 1024x768; increases as needed) Graphics Apps: Poser 4 & 5 Vue4.22 VuePro 4.53 Truespace 5.5 Mimic 2 Pro Bryce 5 Shade 7 basic demo PSP 8 Photoshop LE Cinema 4D CE 6 Adobe Premiere 6.0 Currently checking out the Particle Illusion 3 demo Lots of little apps like the UTC, RTEncoder, UVMapper, Mover 101, Morph Manager, etc. Render times are what I would call 'quick'; the fastest box in my rendergarden has an Athlon 2500+ in it, and the Athlon 64 does a frame in a distributed at least half again as fast (by the time my fastest satellite box has done 2 frames, the main box has done at least 3, and may be chewing on #4).

Well... I left out the DVD burner(s) on my systems - and the other grafix apps that I've got installed but not become even vaguely proficient in... ner! Not tried "farming" myself - I'm not as into the whole grafix thing as some others - I'm just a dabbler...lol! T.
