I'm wondering how do you get started and/or how do you make Mike or Vicky into different looking characters? I need about 30 different characters for my "Ladder Project", I can't afford to buy 30 different character sets. I have Poser 5 & all of the Stock Morphing packs (Head & Body Morph Paks) for both Mike & Vicky 3.0.
I have played with the morphing dails on the morph paks and after a half of a hour of work and showing it to a friend. They can't tell the difference between Mike's and my new character's face.
Thanks,
Turk

Depends on your project. The more subtle the difference, then the closer you may have to get so that the subtle differences between faces are apparent. If you're prepared to sacrifice a bit of realism, you can go for a "characiture" effect with your faces. Additionally, I'm sure I've seen a body morphing tool that will add "weight" to male characters floating about the "free section" of this site. Apart from that, more obvious differentials would be hair style and colour, not to mention fleshtones. If you have a photoshop program you should be able to experiment with the colouring for skin tones, as well as adding something like "freckles" to your characters to make some of them more unique than others. Hope some of that is helpful. Chloe

Using different textures on the figures can help greatly to make them look different. Use the old and young morphs and any other head morphs that might work, you could try making some asian or african types too. There are quite a few free textures for the figures available, try some of these for your figures.

Theres a good variety of textures and morph settings both free and fairly cheap. Check through the freestuff section here. Then with a couple of careful purchases, you should be able to make a good variety of figures. Remember, you can change the look of a skin texture by changing the material colours... RDNA has some good free MAT pose settings to change skin shading. Its actually quite easy to make very different and unique faces with just the stock morphs ..the trick? don't be afraid of negative numbers (I'd say something about my product Randomiser .. But I don't want to get scolded)

Turk, I may be wrong but from what I understand of your message, you didn't use any of those head and body morph from the pack you bought. You don't get them through the parameter morphing dials. They are poses. Usually you'll find them in your libraries, in !Daz folder. Right-click anywhere on your library menu and you should see that folder in the popup menu. There you can choose the morphs you want to use. France

Lyrra's Randomizer or Morphos from DAZ same basic concept. they will do the dial twidling for you (maybe even make changes you wouldn't have thought to do) and you just accept or reject the results. Personaly (based on what i could tell from the advertisements) i prefer Morphos. I just wish i could get someone to do the files for David. :) You'll have to look them over and decide what is best for you.

The best way to make characters is to play around. I do characters for several clients which means a lot of morphing. On average i make about 75 characters in 3 days. I never use a program to do it for me. I just play around often times I get interesting results. You can create about 5 characters in about 10 minutes if you aren't picky. Just spin dials and save reset the figure then spin dials and save.. reset spin save.. ;) repeat as often as necessary. some will be trash characters. Others.. nice Mike and v3 are great for morphing. And they move pretty quickly too

You could go to my gallery. There's about 30 different characters there, along with the dial setting to create them.
