Newbie question: Sorry to bother you. I am applying a default brick material from category rocks. The problem is that it shows very small. I edit the material and change the picture scale to say X:1.5 and Y:1.5 but i cannot see that it has changed in the model.Am i doing something wrong or missing something? Thanks

Do it this way: In the small material window at top right of your Vue interface, scale the brick to something highter. Guitta

The model has been imported into vue as a 3ds model. Maybe it plays a role the different format? Maybe 3ds cannot be textured as a native Vue file. I have also tried the cube example as you mentioned and it does work. The exported file comes from sketchup. Thanks

One thing to try is to ungroup your SU import and then try and texture it. This may help. :O)

Also if your model is not grouped from SU try splitting it in vue into its individual components. Then texture each componet. :O)

Looks like progress, try turning your bump down a bit? :O)

So what does it go wrong on the material scale i posted above and it shows too many black dots. How do i improve it? how do i make it look like the picture posted by gebe?

If you want smoother bricks, click the material editor for it, click "bumps" and scale down the Bump gain.
