I'm still so new at this that I have maybe 17 Bryce images and only two that involve Poser. I have a "favorite" to date picture though. dirk, I like that image you posted. Very good work.

cherokee, yours was quite interesting. Really good posing.

What a fun thread! Looking back on my gallery I found that while we were condemned to the P4 figures we found ways to improve on them a lot and through the combined efforts of the community members a lot of good things came out. I remember feeling especially pleased when I finally tweaked the "Dork" into a figure I liked a lot. Somehow the feeling's not the same with the hi-poly meshes and their hi-res textures, it seems more effortless now :) Before clicking please be advised that there's nudity :) Now off to check out everyone else's here!

JVRenderer posted Sun, 20 June 2004 at 4:27 PM

I don't delete images from my gallery. I still have my very first post. I like to keep them because I like to go back and look at them from time to time and find out the flaws, and compare them with recent images. I am constantly learning new stuff. They are a reference to my progress. (at least I hope I am progressing :o). )

My favorites are are a toss up between these : Trick or Treat and Plain Jane.

The character is my first freebee, You can get her at PoserPro, under Tashar59, comes with my Gwennie Fc2 also. I too keep all my renders, not many, to see how I improved, at lest I hope I have. This is turning into a really interesting thread. Not just the pics, but the reasons people pick the ones they pick. (Ones that stick in my mind so far: the Egyptian one, and the Gumby one.)

I tend to dislike my older pics, because I see everything I did wrong. But I leave them up, as a record of progress. I still kind of like this one (see link), because I did so much modelling for it. (And had some trouble with texturing, as you may be able to tell!) It's definitely not a crowd-pleaser, though. One of my least viewed pics, probably because it was posted to the Vue gallery, which is much quieter than the Poser gallery. And because it's kind of weird.

I'm pretty happy with my latest image, which I entered in Ferguson's Fantasy Contest. I'm always interested in seeing action scenes that others make, so I concentrated on cramming as much action as I could into that entry. It didn't win, but all the supportive comments I received made it almost feel that way. :) I'd like to 'continue' that series with more battles, but I'm kind of out of ideas (and time) at the moment. ;) Thanks, take care. I clean out my gallery, too, mainly because of people taking my stuff and either tubing it or making sig tags out of them, so most of what's there now is recent. I think this one is one of my best so far. It was challenging to get the poses and light done right.

While most of my Poser pieces begin with a fractal that I 'fit' a person into, this one started as a straight concept piece. I really like how the post-worked fur came out, as well as the cold-blushed skin tones. The fur was made with metaballs in Bryce to create the positioning for the highlights, then I used Photoshop to 'brush' the fur lines in. Great thread! Loved seeing what everyone else has picked as their own favs.

I've tended to think whatever new image I put up is my best. Then time passes and I start seeing the faults. I don't think I really have a best image because, even a year later, I'm still learning. Sometimes, I'll look at an older image and see things I want to fix, but there's only so much time in the day and, when I finally feel like doing something with Poser, it's usually more fun doing something new than reworking something old. My favorite is probably the "Looking Around" image because it was one that grew on me as I created it. This was literally a discovery as I threw things together and it wound up being a more interesting illustration than I initially conceived. "Not so easy prey" turned out well, but has surprised me because it hasn't gotten a single comment even though it got a lot of views. "Zombie Night" still holds up, especially since it was my first serious attempt to do a drawing with Poser. It's the oldie I'm picking because it convinced me that Poser was worth exploring further.

But luckily this is a nice way to see them back. I think I'd post my little contribution too. This is the scene of mine with Poser characters that I am most happy about, because of the concept and the memories it brings back (for me at least). It is rendered in Vue, but the focus is all on the Poser characters. I hope you like it.

Its a sad story really. Homeless in Dayton as I hear it. Seems like she had this thing for the Dork - Lord only knows why women chose the men they do - and for a while there he only had eyes for her. Then along came Vicki 1 (what can I say, men are even worse - must have been hanging out in some Poser bar having a few too many when she walked in, shudder...). Anyhow, they got serious for a bit, leaving poor little Posette standing in the lurch (she even had her wedding dress all picked out). Well, its a bit unclear what happened next. Some say it was Stephanie, others Vicki 2, but I say it was Mike 1 to begin with. Seems like V1 took up with him for a bit, and I think maybe even the Dork felt a certain sense of attraction or perhaps resentment. Hard to tell with those love hate relationshops. Not sure which it was with him, but Mike came along and he sort of got lost from the picture. Posette, good old Posette, she held on for a while, hoping he'd come back to her. But the Dork, he just sort of stayed in his little spot and brooded. She took a few small time offers, and even ended up on the web doing porn for a while, than just sort of faded from the scene. Now its a busy street corner, with her windex and wadded newspaper offering to do windows on passing cars for a few pixels in change. Sad, really sad. :O(

Nah, both dork and posette still got steady jobs... Rumors have it that they are working for an FBI crime lab some where doing some modeling. They had it quite easy.
