what size and what file format should i use in creating textures for bryce 4? thanxs, digitals

any size will work, I generally use 512x512 images, but any size will work. And for format, I use jpg's alot just becuase of the smaller file sizes.

why use jpg for a bryce texture? granted its a smaller file on your computer, but it does lose some of the info and Bryce doesnt use compression in textures...it just uses a fully uncompressed version of the file (faults and all) htt://www.brycetech.com/ has a tutorial on the pict library and how bryce interprets the picture data later BT

a 257k jpeg uncompressed compared to a 3 meg bmp, and If you save the textures to your presets, Id rather have a 300k .mat file, instead of a 3meg mat file. The texture itself is basicly the same. Ken
