This is one of those projects I started about a year-ago & stopped half-way through (figured I could do it but didn't really need to). Anyway, this is a multi-spline hair model built around a Poser head. I'm still working on the converted wavefront.obj to get it ready for Poser (quick render at right - lots of welding & filling of open polys needed to be done). In the mean-time, does anybody have any interest in this RDS5.5 scene? If so I'll stick it in the CAR freestuff section in the next couple of days. Right now it is in MAC OS & if I can figure out the PC file format I'll try to do that, perhaps someone already knows how? The model "as is" works well in RDS with "wires" added in the shader bump channel, when converting to obj file format then several hours of work will be needed to weld & fix vetices (or wait 'til I'm done with the .hr file). Also, I don't think the Carrara wavefront conversion process works too well if that's all you have to work with. I set the quality to "max" and ended-up with a 9meg file. The "best" setting in RDS resulted in a file around 800k. Tried a couple other settings in CAR but ended-up with either a crummy conversion or huge file.
I don't know how to convert Mac Ray Dream to Windows, but I like the way it looks and would enjoy seeing the obj file, hopefully with all the separate pieces mapped in UVMapper to allow easy texturing.
Awesome! Very cool! Clint
