I keep trying to render a pose and every time I get the message that I am out of memory, to save my work and perhaps allocate more memory to Poser. I'm running on a WIN98, PIII, 450, 224 MB ram and no other programs are open. Whats up with that? How can I, if at all possible, allocate more memory to Poser in Win98? The scene as a stage, one figure, two articles of clothing and hair...and 3 lights. That's it. Nothing major. And I have tried to render it in every size and resolution possible and it always comes out the same.... Someone please put an end to my misory.

Have you updated with the 4.03 patch from Curious Labs?

I think I tried once to do it but I didn't go on correctly....I think...Will that help solve the out of memory problem?

I dont think the patch is a cure all, but its a good starting point. You may be best to do a program reinstall first. May be belt and braces, but it only takes afew moments and we'll know that we have a good starting point. A reinstall will not over write your custom files provided that you have not used file names that come with the program. If in doubt back up.

Thanks for the Help Phil. It would appear that the program just was glitchy...it just started working all of a sudden. Thought you might like to see the picture I was trying to render. It's Gonna be my first to post to the gallery!

This message often happens when you want to bring a new character into the scene and it's RSR file in the geometries directory is damaged. In this case the message is preceded by a warning that poser could not open the obj file for the character. The problem is solved by deleting the RSR file in the geometries folder of the same name as the warning message regarding the OBJ file. When the character is next called up, Poser will buiild a new RSR file in the objectives directory.

I think your basic problem is that, like me, your using "a Microsoft product" which is buggy, slow, and above all memory inneficient crap. Did I mention the word "innovate" yet? :) Run Rambooster, it works for me, but he's right about RSR files, took me while to work that one out. If you're still having problems, reboot every 2-3 hours, (hard reboot) that'll cure most ill's. Of course, you could always buy a Mac... :) later jb
