I would like to export a clothing object into a 3d program, create some morphs, and then import it back into Poser for use on a character. What is the best way to do this?

uncheck everything except "include existing groups" and "morph target". Export it by separate groups actually usually works better for me instead of one single piece. Do not move or rescale the object unless you know exactly the scale and position it started in and can return them there. Save each morph separately, witha good name Create a second CR2 of the garment and rename it. Load that CR2 up in Poser, and apply the morph targets. Save the cr2. (extra steps -- hack it so the morphs are saved as deltas and you can inject them! yeah, yeah!!)

Wow! Ask and ye shall receive! Thanks, Ynsaen, that's just what I needed to know.

I can't seem to get this to work. I created my morphs, exported it as an object file. Then I brought up the original garment in CR2editor, saved it with a different name, and tried to loading it in Poser - I got nothing - blank. Then I tried loading the original garment, then clicked on "load morph target", selected the object file morph I created, and it didn't load it - in fact, the window for selecting the morph target stayed up and didn't close. What am I doing wrong? Thanks...

Lee -- encode the files and upload them through the upload tool at ODF and I'll take a look at them for you. just let me know if it's RTE or PCF in the file name.

Um...I don't know how to do that...8-

There are 2 freebies here: one is RTEncoder, the other is ObjAction Mover. They include instructions, hon, and it's not that hard :) easier than making morphs :)

Okay, thanks. One more thing...what is ODF?

Thanks for trying to help, Ynsaen, but I never was able to upload the files. It kept timing out and then saying "page not found". I think I've found a work around. Instead of trying to use it as a morph target, I just made it into a whole new conforming item with Quick Conform.
