I have Poser 4, and was wondering if there are any, or are going to be any free, good quality Poser Star Wars models of AT-ATs, AT-STs, etc? I know there are a ton for programs such as 3D Studio Max, but unfortunately, I do not own that program, plus Poser is so easy to animate with. I've tried searching, and haven't been very successful. It seems odd that nobody would have actually made any of these models for Poser yet. Anyway, thanks in advance.

Sadly, the Lucas folk went over to the dark side long ago and StarWars sites tend to drop before their lawyers like the proverbial fly. There do not seem to be any Wavefront files in the category about which you asked, but Poser will import 3ds files without much difficulty. Here are 3 I found. The middle one, though the finest, is a little dicey to work with, but well worth the effort.

I don't recall anyone releasing a Poser-ized Imperial walker yet, but I suppose it's only a matter of time. Many of the other *Star Wars* vehicles and props can be found at [Vanishing Point](http://www.vanishingpoint.biz/). (Yes, I know I have the scale wrong. I was attempting a forced-perspective shot at the time, and it didn't work out.)

I've got some lightsabers and a brace of Imperial blasters over at PlanIt 3D

Cool, thanks for the linkies, but unfortunately I'm sort of left in the dust. Though I have been using Poser for a while, I've never even tried building my own models (unless you call "dressing" a model building one), so trying to import a 3DS model and modifying it to animate is beyond my abilities. I'm really quite suprised that an AT-AT or AT-ST doesn't exist within the realms of Poser yet. Oh well, it's only a matter of time, I guess I could wait until someone with skill and experience builds one up. I'm afraid if I attempt, it'll just blow up in my face (besides, I'm not patient enough anyway).

If one is making Star Wars stuff and giving it away, that fan art and allowed. If one is making Star Wars stuff and selling it, or trying to, that not allowed and BOTH 20c Fox and Lucas film will climb on ones back and inform the offender that licenced property can't be sold without a properly agreed to licence. Anyone that got busted was most likely nailed for licence violations

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Just take a look through my free stuff here for a TIE Fighter, X-Wing, B-Wing, Imperial Shuttle, X-Wing, and Landspeeder. All are figures and props, so there's no worry about getting them to work in Poser. Most even have moving parts. :) And check out the new interactive version of my B-Wing, at: At Vanishing Point, we have the complete collection of Dodger's lightsabers and blasters! Just go to the Free Stuff section and set the Classification for "Star Wars". --John
