I just found out that only members can view the galleries?? What genius is behind this foolishness? Why post a gallery if the public can't view it? Do we want a quaint little click or a serious showing? I can fully understand for the download section- It makes membership special, but what about links for resumes or casual viewers? This is not acceptable for a serious art promo, and I for one refuse to post a gallery that can not be viewed through other links. "Fortune City" come to mind? They don't score any fans for this practice, so how could Renderosity? I thought this site had more class. Excluding the public is NOT the best way to promote artists, or any of the sponsors.

You know, I have to agree with you on this one. It does not make any sense. And it stops people from viewing. Very good point, I reiterated it in the moderators forum and I hope we can get this changed. Peace and Creativity Chris

I totally agree, but they want those e-mail addresses to spam. At least, that's the only reason I can see for that. Why else require signup for just viewing the galleries?

I know for a fact that the email address are used for nothing at all except to send members notices about the site so the spam thing is out of line. But it is still not good to have to have people register to view the artwork. Peace and Creativity Chris

We have heard from several artists who refer prospective customers to the Renderosity gallery to review their work. Obviously, we don't want to hinder this process, so the membership requirement for viewing the galleries has been removed. We continue to learn how to best serve the members here. Sometimes that will involve missteps as we try to find the balance the between the needs of the members and the revenues required to keep this site viable. As long as we maintain good communications, I'm sure that balance will occur. Tim Choate

I have never, I repeat never received spam from Renderosity. The accusation is without evidence, foundation in fact or merit.

I am not sure if there has been a recent change to the policy but I only became a member yesterday and I had no problem looking through the many galleries here. It was only when I wanted to read the forums was I prompted to join renderosity.
