Hi all - does anyone know of a source for archival quality CDs/DVDs? I'd like to use them to store our photos on and can't find them anywhere.

Good news and bad news... I published a link here a while back of a NIST study into archival CD's. A search of our archives should turn it up. The bad news is, I have not yet been able to correlate the NIST study with commercially available products. If anyone can provide this info, it will be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, the only way to hope for real longevity is by launching the image on the WWW. I'm considering writing a science fiction story about lost civilizations launching their culture on radio broadcasts between the stars. Eventually, someone hears them, builds upon their own culture, and repeats the transmission... But, if you are concerned more about the near term, try printing B&W on silver paper.

Thanks Misha. Now where do I get silver paper??? LOL There are all sorts of studies out there on the net. I'm just looking for some Mitsui golds. They seem to be an endangered species! CP
