A number of folks have had problems posting to the Gallery recently. I've tried to keep the Gremlin locked up, but sometimes hairballs sneak into the system. In order to display a thumbnail in the Gallery index, first of all you have to reduce a copy of the original to fit the required size limits. The thumbnail image (if supplied) should be between 50 x 50 and 200 x 200 pixels and be less than 15 kb in size. I use Photoshop for this, [Image->Image Size...], making sure that "Resample" and "Constrain" are checked. Then I save a copy using the "Save for Web" feature [File->Save for Web...]. This compresses the thumb down to within the required 15Kb size. IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE THIS THUMB WITH A DIFFERENT FILENAME FROM THE ORIGINAL, FULL SIZE IMAGE. A quirk in the 'osity system will do bery strange things if the thumb and image are named the same thing! Help! Does anyone use other (cheaper) applications to make the thumbnail? I think "Elements" works. I think maybe the freeware irfanview works? Then, on the Renderosity upload page, you need to include the filename for the thumbnail. ___ I hope this helps. Any tips and tricks from other members?
