Is that something you're creating? It is beautiful. France

Yup. Thank you. I think it needs a little lace yet, and there are a couple areas of the mesh that need work. It's relatively low polycount, and the texture is all P5 material. Dynamic cloth of course.

I really like the fit of the skirt... it looks real ;o) Dynamic cloth: does that mean Poser4 users won't be able to use this set? I don't understand what is dynamic cloth. France

Dynamic cloth is a rigid(non-posable) object that must be run through P5's cloth room. You load the object, position it, parent it to the proper body part, and set your simulation up in the cloth room. You can use it for stills or animations. P5 will calculate the cloth's impact with your figure, and prevent it from passing into your figures mesh. P4 users can't use it, but if I find time, I'll make a conforming version. The texturing, will be P5 only. I don't enjoy making texure maps.

The top would probably still work in P4 as a prop parented to Sara's chest, with the Bend option enabled.
I made a bikini top for Furrette which I've been using in that manner, as I haven't had time to turn it into a conforming figure yet.
Excellent job, by the way.

Well I like texturing! So if you make a conforming version, please map it so it is easy to texture. I will enjoy creating textures for such a nice outfit. ;o) France

Ok, it's been a rough day. The mesh is DEFINATELY going to have to be worked on before it will make a decent conforming figure. I tried a few things, but it just wasn't happening. Here are the Top and Skirt that I used above. They are smart props to be run through the cloth room. They have basic mapping and the P5 material is already applied. Default dynamic settings should work for most poses. You may want to set "Collision Offset" and "Collision Depth" to @ .6(under "Collide against"?). You should also select(for skirt) "Edit Constrained" and select the waistband to keep it from dropping. Keep in mind it's still a WIP.iamonk posted Sun, 04 July 2004 at 5:02 PM
Oh yeah, feedback is more than welcome.

Wow amazing job iamonk, but is there a way i can use these in PP? -Vlad
iamonk posted Sun, 04 July 2004 at 7:10 PM
Vlad, they're made to take advantage of features in P5. It seems like there is enough demand for a P4 version, so I'll be working on that once I take care of a few things. You could use 'em but wouldn't be able to do much posing. France, if it's the drooping back you are refering to... I pulled it down a little because the poses that I was using in my test animations were cause the back to even up during the calculation of the dynamics. It is propably a little low, though.

iamonk, since I don't know how to use the cloth room yet and I was able to apply a new material to your suit in Material room, am I correct in assuming Poser4 and PPP users could use your suit as is by doing just that too? France

First you want to load Sarah, load the clothes, and I like to turn off animating for the cameras and lights. Since we'll be making a short animation, and movement of these may be neccesary during final posing. The idea is to have the default pose at frame one, and your final pose at the last frame of the simulation. We don't need 30 frames so you can click on the "30" on the animation bar and enter "10"-"enter". Got to frame 10 and apply you pose...

Also, if your final pose is one that may cause unwanted bunching, like sitting...
You may want to drop the friction values here a little to allow it to slide instead bunch up.
Chances are, for now you won't need to.

I found that after so many calculations, P5 doesn't want to do it anymore. You can delete the simulation recreate it, and most of your settings are retained and you can continue.
When it's done calculating you can hit play/pause, or frame advance to pick your frame. Move the camera and lights if neccesary and render your still. If you want to change the final pose, go to the end frame, alter it, recalculate and render.

Hopefully some of this will make some sense to those who have been intimidated by the cloth room. This is just to get you started with some stills. Conforming clothes are easier to work with sometimes, but not only are you adding a denser mesh, but also all the other bulk that comes with a .cr2.
Dynamics don't have body parts to cut up, joints to set up, morphs to worry about.
One piece of clothing can fit many body shapes.
With a high poly figure like V3 there's a whole lotta calculating with dynamic cloth, but lighter meshes like Sara fly.
