hi, i want to do a landscape and use a bryce snow texture. in the lower level, the texture is right, but in the higher levels (terrain) the texture is changing into stone texture. but i want the snow texture completely over the whole terrain. what can i do?

uh..it can be done, but the trick is how it's applied over angles, you can set a mat to only cover things up to x degrees off vertical. I'd go over to Daz, then to the Brycetech tutorials, and there are at least 3 of the most comprehensive tutorials on DTE creation I've seen out there..should be something in there along those lines.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Is that the "Roches and Ices" preset? If so just go into the Material Editor and hit the pink button next to the words "Ice Bump 30" and change the dark brown color in the first component to a shade of white. HTH; Dan

thank you, Dan. i did this already. okay, the color will change but not the bump map. this doesnt solve my problem.

left click/hold and drag the channel with the rite bump on it to the one that is colored.

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.

To show what Wildman said graphically (and please excuse my chicken scratches): Drag the preview image of component 2 to 1 Turn off component 2 Turn Color on 1 Set up some white/blue colors in the swatches Hit the mode popup and select Spline Interpol Hope that works; Dan

i am very pleased, that you help me. i did what you said, but it didnt work. the main problem is the bump map. i want this map equable over all objects. forget the color. i tried to change the mapping methods, but this has no effect on this map. (in the german bryce version its the "gletscher"preset.)

Sorry this has taken so long! See if this does it: After doing the above open the Noise editor for Comp1 in the DTE Change the YX to 0 Change the texture from 2D to 3D and close the editor. Open the Filter Editor and hit the Reset button. Change the popup from Slope to Gaussian (or Sine). Now if you want to have the texture appear continuous across different objects, then in the Material Editor you'll need to change the mapping mode from Object to World and you'll probably want to lower the frequency a little. Image in next post of this. I'm real sure that's the English "Rouches and Ices" preset. Sure hope this works! Dan
