I'm looking at the moment at PoserWorld to extent my poser5 libs with some content. PoserWorld seems to have a lot of good looking content at an amazing price. I'm mainly interested in some of the ancient stuff there (but things too of course) like the biblical, greek and medieval clothes. I've also looked at some of PhilC's stuff in PhilC's Online Store, but purchasing the Arabian Nights Package and Total Knights Package is almost as expensive as a lifetime subscription at PoserWorld. I've also looked at the PhilC Compilation CD #1, which is as expensive as a PoserWorld lifetime subscribtion.
Since I'm a newbie to Poser and the poser community, I do want to ask a few questions concerning these things and perhaps someone is kind enough to answer.
I'm mainly looking at content like this:

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....

Thanks for answering! "Some have complained that the content revolves too much around Mic and Vic (and now S3)" Isn't that the problem everywhere? Most places I see have a lot of content for those figures and only a little for P4/P5 figures, but at PW I did see a lot of content for P4 figures, not sure about P5 figures. I'm mainly drawn to PW since it has a lot of decent content, my poser pruductions have a broad audience and most of the content on renderosity isn't suitable for everyone.

PoserWorld is definately good value for money. If you buy a 3 month or one year membership doesn't really matter, you get access to the entire library anyway. But a longer membership period of course means that you get access to more future updates and they come pretty often!
TygerCub posted Mon, 05 July 2004 at 5:54 AM
If you can afford a lifetime membership, then by all mean, get it. PoserWorld is one of the top subscription sites available for Poser content. New, high-quality items are added regularly, and the clothing items are usually posted with multiple versions to fit multiple characters. You won't find that type of consistent flexibility in any other site. PW also has excellent service. The online connections are reliable and personal customer service is fast and courteous. You can't go wrong by subscribing. PhilC is also an outstanding modeler with a reliable site and great customer service. He regularly shares his knowledge and freely gives advice here at Renderosity. Many of his clothing items also cross character boundaries, and the links to modification files are usually posted here in the freestuff section. But much as I love PhilC's stuff, he doesn't produce the quantity that PoserWorld does. For that reason, PoserWorld is a better value for your money. If it were me, I'd buy a subscription to PoserWorld and save-up to purchase individual items from PhilC later.

I started with a 6 month membership and when that was up renewed with a lifetime membership. It's the best deal around & Steve does take requests which is sweet.
Dale B posted Mon, 05 July 2004 at 8:05 AM
Get the lifetime. It will be worth it. And Steve has said that he hopes to do some articles that include some of the distaff meshes in Poserdom (like Natalia, Dina, Koshini, Sara, etc). But he only has one set of hands (damned inefficient of him)and limited time. If there were a louder cry for some of the other kiddies, that might speed things up a bit.... O:)

Thanks guys for all of the replies! I'm going to get the 1 year subscription one of these days, seems like the best start for now. Just wondering why he can offer his stuff so cheap compared to all of the others around. Perhaps they all should join him :)

I've belonged to PoserWorld subscription site for as long as it's existed. I used to download Steve's things from his original PoserWorld even before it became a membership site. His is the best.
I buy the one-year membership, because it's all I can afford. I'm always reluctant to invest in a lifetime membership in any site, no matter where it is, just in the off chance that it might disappear (Heaven help us if that should happen!), but just in case.
The content is first rate. I use Steve's stuff more than anything else I've bought, including the Renderosity Marketplace, 3D commune store, and DAZ. I keep going back to the PW stuff more than anything I own.
You won't regret joining.

PhilC has wonderful stuff, but I think PoserWorld is a no-brainer regardless. I just became a PoserWorld lifetimer yesterday. You won't regret it. Tim

i too am a poserworld lifer, philc's work is outstanding but i think poserworld is better value for money, and like TygerCub said, you can always save up for philcs goodies with the money you save from poserworld :D

PoserWorld lifer here too. Bought the lifetime my first time around and never looked back since. Definitely one of the best purchases I ever made. The high end quality products that Steve puts out more than makes up for the cost of the subscription.

Two thumbs up for PoserWorld. I was a yearly member and now signed up for lifetime. I highly recommend PoserWorld.

I am a "Lifer" at Poserworld and can't say a "thing" bad about them. (: Steve has been just great in keeping up with the newest models and if you want something, all you got to do is "mention" it and if and when he can....he usually does. (: Phil C is great too, and if he had a "subscription" site....I would definately join that too!
Strixowl posted Mon, 05 July 2004 at 12:53 PM
Poserworld has just gotten better and better and better and better since I joined less than a year ago. I would also swear by the quality of PhilC's stuff. I don't know if Phil will continue to do what he use to in the future, but he use to release "new" products (at his site-for a limited time)for unbelieveably low prices before they went to full price.

Get the lifetime subscription. No, you won't die the next day. (At least I didn't.)

I just recieved my Poserworld Lifer 5 cd bundle two weeks ago just and finished putting everything into my runtime last weekend. I'm glad that's over... what a marathon! It's absolutely loaded with content. Very happy. Having said that, I also recieved Phil C's "modeling for Poser" cd last week and he's done a wonderful job with it. I was faced with the same "what do I purchase?" dilemna, but PW was offering a time-limited money saving offer, which broke the tie. I'm going to get Phil's comp CD soon as his work is first class.

I bought a 1 year sub to PW and renewed without a second thought. As soon as I can afford it I will get the lifetime sub. Phil C's stuff is first rate, too. He produces some amazing "almost free" clothing packs which have to be seen to be believed.
