Need some help twiking my expression on this image. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=711618&Start=1&Sectionid=1&filter_genre_id=61&WhatsNew=Yes Trying for that anger where your just some mad that your about to explode and your doing everything that you can to contain it.Not sure if i'm convaying it right. maybe i should close the mouth and grit the teeth more any help/insight will be appriceated

If you hadn't said it was anger, I'd have thought it was pain. He looks like he is having the mother of all headaches! Maybe you should close his mouth like you said. And lower his hands, maybe? (the position of the hands help in showing a headache here, I think) In your place, I would try to place my own mouth as if I was VERY angry and look at myself in a mirror. Then I'd try to reproduce the expression on my model. France

I think I would make the eyebrows do more like this: / and I would also have more of the bottom teeth showing. Great work though! I agree with the headache appearance :D ^^

What I mean about the eyebrows is have them slant more upwards at the outside edges.

Woah coolness, i woulda thought he was a um...a bit blocked up but anger, yeah I see anger. Um...I agree with the other comments, pointy eyebrows and more bottom teeth, I think most of the front bottom teeth showing would suffice ala the Hulk....I know I just repeated everything but um...I'm havin ga brain fart at the moment so I can't think of anything new.

Usually you wouldn't close your eyes totally when it's anger, but you would f it was pain. I would use the wince more and the blink less and let a small slit show of the eyes. It still looks like pain to me, frankly right now as if he's taking a sh** - OR as if he's just about to er.. come... (I hope the latter isn't as painfull as it may appear.....)

I see it now. Don't know what happened earlier ;o) I agree with ernyoka1, you should open his eyes a bit. Not too large but still open a little. And the texture for his head looks too much like burns. Maybe spots but not the whole head. The blue veins are ok though. I'd even put them a little bit more visible. I think you should straighten his shoulders. Like he is really holding back his rage, not bent like he has stomach cramps. Maybe lift his head up a bit too. Like he is looking at someone that he feels like strangle. His lips have something wrong too. Too curvy I think. When one is in a rage, his lips tend to look like 2 straight lines. NOTE: My suggestions may sound harsh but it is only because I am writing them in English and I lack the appropriate vocabulary so please take that in consideration, ok? France

I agree with France & ernyoka. People whoa are angry tend to keep their eyes open (think "GLARE!!")... Skin around the eyes (ie the facial muscles above and below the eyes) scrunched up a lot (vertically), but eyelids as open as possible.... It's a similar thing with the mouth. Jaw clenched; teeth together; but lips apart (you're almost there with that). If you can do it, some tendons standing out on the neck.. And looking directly into the camera. (he wants to kill something but is holding back..) Just my 0.2 worth.... Cheers, Diolma

Perhaps the leading expert on the subject of facial expression is Professor Paul Ekman, whose course I had the good fortune of taking some years ago. I still have one of his books, so I went and looked up the specific details, they are as follows:
Anger will show itself in the brow, eyes, and mouth parts of the face. The eyebrows will lower and be drawn in together. The eyelids will tense, and the eyes will appear to stare in a hard fashion. The lips will be tightly pressed together (most often) or else parted in a square shape (such as when the teeth are gritted and a person is a state of rage about to attack).
