... if you're using a PC check out the demo of "FileEx" (less than 500k). It modifies (and enlarges) standard open/save dialogue boxes. Chiefly it's designed to allow program specific favourites, which is brill for Poser/Bryce/3d work. However, an added feature of FileEx presents you with with a Search button in the dialogues. When Bryce (or Poser) asks where a missing file is, just hit the "Find Files" button and FileEx will locate the missing file in seconds. The proggie's only $20 to purchase, and (for me anyway) it really has become one of those gems that I couldn't live without.

Glad you like it!! Once you get used to it then I think you'll understand what I mean about it being an essential! Incidentally, one thing I'll add is that very occasionally I do get a message after a search is completed which says "Error reading disk - search abandoned". However, this always occurs only after the file has been successfully located, and I think it's a peculiarity of all the partitions which I personally use. FilEx has already saved me countless hours of tedium searching for files in Poser, and I decided to post the info as I've just bought Bryce, and I've been reading at DAZ about putting all the textures into a self contained folder for imports. Usually I look for free stuff for jobs like this, but I also think FileEx ROX and I just had to buy it. It's paid for itself many times over!

I just downloaded the trial, it should make a big difference looking for those pesky files. 8)

As a PS... I also find the favs facility in FileEx very useful. For example, I might only use The Tailor once every couple of months. No longer do I have to scratch my head trying to remember where I put the V3 Manikin. It's a favourite file which I've assigned to The Tailor. One last thing about FileEx which I really do like, but which can appear a bit confusing at first (after years of using windows) is that it remembers and re-opens the last folder used. On occasions you'll maybe want to disable this option for a specific program because the program is best suited for directing the open file dialogue to a folder containing its own presets. You'll find FileEx allows you total control to disable/enable its functions for specific programs.
