you figure in the next couple of years our processor speeds will prob be close to 10gigs...were at 4 now...it should be interesting... i like Carrara, and its good for what i use it for, but i suppose if youre wanting something industry standard then Maya would be the way to go...im also tempted by Truespace... itll be interesting to see how C will keep itself competing, so we arent easily lured away...
I probably would have been using Cinema 4D if I had never heard of Carrara.

Check this website out http://www.artvps.com/about.ihtml?page=overview I am tempted to abandon Carrara for Aliaswavefront|Maya. Eovia would need to take the next step to 64bits CPU with AMD and realtime Renderer machines to keep Carrara alive. I think Nvidia will try to match with this company.
