As it happens, I turned up a stereo transparency viewer, letting you view two standard 35mm slides as a steroe pair. It wouldn't be hard to duplicate with a pair of those cheap slide-viewer gadgets. Taking the pictures, that would be harder, but as I recall the method was to choose a non-moving subject, and then shift balance from one foot to the other between shots.

Shot this from hand.. For perfection you'd need a tripod.
I've got one of those 3D vieuwers somewhere in the attic I think (a red one :P). But the pictures on that are so small I wouldn't know how to create a slide for that in a simple and cheap way.
I used to do this with 3D Studio, cool to see I can do it 'in real life' as well.

3DGuy, would that be a Viewmaster -- a disk mounting a whole set of 3D pictures, and you pressed a lever to move to the next pair. Not what I was talking of, but I remember them from way back.

Ah yes, a Viewmaster, that's it :) But I think I know what you mean. That would still mean I'd have to create 35mm slides of my digital photographs :) A little digging turned up this: Stereoscopic viewer That could be an option :) For that you'd only have to print it out.

Yeah it looks good to me! For what it is worth there used to be a site which included a calculation to measure how much to move inorder to creat e the stereo image. I'll include this site which provides some information. Bstephbsteph2069 posted Mon, 12 July 2004 at 4:24 PM
