Hello,
Something odd happened last time I used Bryce, I used some of the free downloaded objects, the computer frozed up and I had to close Bryce with the task manager. Went looking in Program Files in the Bryce folder objectsuser and I found 11 big TMP files of over 200 MB each axiFFD.tmp, axiFF3 up to 9.tmp, axiFFA up to D.tmp, deleted them but they kept coming back. Uninstalled & reinstalled Bryce, left the downloaded objects out of it and it works fine. The thing is that those objects worked in the past.
What did I do wrong ?
Thx.
Arlette

First off, those .tmp files can be renamed to 'anything.br5' When Bryce crashes it dumps your current project into a .tmp file and saves it - be warned! This does not always occure!!!! 2nd. Always TEST your new d/loaded objects using a NEW Bryce workspace. If they work ok you can then put them into your 'CREATE' drop-down and save them for use in your current project. 3rd. Bryce is limited by the capacity of your computer. You need loads and loads of RAM. Some of us here have over 1gig RAM and even that's not always enough. Having said that, simple stuff like good housekeeping will keep Bryce running with no problems even on a basic system. 4th. When Bryce starts acting up, save your project (you should do this often anyway) clear out your .tmp files and re-boot. 5th. Something I've learned but never passed on - Bryce will speed up if you change the NANO-PREVIEWS to WIREFRAME. Finally, if you are an experienced pc user then you probably know most this anyway, and you should not take this as an insult to your intelligence. Hope this helps. Regards The Bryster
