Out of all the walking/running poses and bvh's I've come across, they've all got the arms swinging about the place. What I'm looking for is some nice military manouvres, where the arms, back and neck stay static.

If you have bvh files etc that are close you can simply delete the data from the boody parts you do not want. simply open the keyframe editor panel, select the data recorded for the body parts you do not want to move and hit delete.
