for max u should have obj importer (Obj to Max) , but its only work until max ver 5.1 , there is tutorial here how to instance material maps , so u can save your memory with only using 3 or 4 maps nice render depend on your light setting , i think u can do that in Firefly (p5 ), but max of course give you more superior light fx (especially in scene with a lot ambient ) and faster.. Cinema4d give me nice result too and faster if you not using their GI , and easy import process ( R.8) i hope this help

3dsMax has a great renderer now with MentalRay, which is integrated well in Max v6. Mental Ray is one of the best renderers you can buy, and is also used with Maya, SoftimageXSI, and others. You can import entire PZ3 scenes if you get the BodyStudio plugin, otherwise you'll need the OBJ2MAX plugin for Max v6 (which is available in the marketplace here). But let me ask, are you really in need of better rendering? Enough to spend thousands of dollars on a software application just for that? If so, then you'll love 3dsMax v6. If not, then go with Bryce or Cinema4D or Vue.

Tools :  3dsmax 2015, Daz Studio 4.6, PoserPro 2012, Blender v2.74

System: Pentium QuadCore i7, under Win 8, GeForce GTX 780 / 2GB GPU.

Agree to Maxxxmodelz. If you would like to have an idea, how LIGHTWAVE handles Poser files, take a look at the attached Link. "The Poser to Lightwave Website"
