Okay, I have uploaded my first materials pack to the freestuff section. It's still pending, but when it is approved, I need all the feedback possible on improving future versions. I noticed after I uploaded it that one of the materials needed some serious ambience tweaking, so I will be fixing that soon. But just let me know if everything works. Also, I am hosting it off of an Angelfire site and I don't know if they allow offsite linking like this. Someday I will get a raise and be able to afford my own website. All feedback accepted, more negative than positive preferred. (I'm tired of people telling me how great things look.)

Unfortunately...your item is hosted at Angelfire, and they do not allow direct linking. You will need to build a viewable page at Angelfire that holds your item (clickable thumbnail starts download) The File url in your upload will be the url of that page, it's the only way to do it when using freepages. (The screenshot is what I see when I try to download your file) AgentSmith

I was not aware of this. I just slapped together a simple page and am heading off to reupload the thing to freestuff. Thank you AgentSmith for your help.

For those of you who really do not want to wait, I made the download link accessible from my junky little homepage at http://www.angelfire.com/mech/airlynx.

Woo hoo! Now the question is, if I can't link directly to files on an Angelfire server, how do I provide a thumbnail? I miss the good ol' days on the Internet when everything was free, even NetZero. sigh

There's Spymac.com. For some reason, Spymac allows direct linking (which is cool). I like it. You'll need to figure out FTP to use their web hosting. But it's not hard with a nifty little program called Filezilla. It used to be that back in the day (before 2000) everyone allowed direct linking (even Angelfire.) Then some IT guy said "Hey that uses up bandwidth. Waaaaa!" (The bastage!) And then it went down from there... ...But now with the G-mail thing and similar sites, things might start looking good again. :)
