How do you export from wings to bryce...The only option that it gives me when I try to export that should work is obj. format but it says like wavefront .obj....then when I try to import it in bryce 5 I get an invalid format error...anybody know what the deal is here?

Yea I tried all that...do you have the same versioin of bryce as me? ... even so I think it should work but it doesnt...and I dont even see a progress bar and I have the latest version of wings. Could it be something to do with my bryce?

it has nothing to do with bryce. The latest release of W3D is 0.98.22c. The progress bar is sometimes masked by the start bar, be sure to maximize the window. as for bryce, I do believe it works with both 4 and 5. File: Import: find where you exported the obj from wings, load it. drac

3ds works fine..and the latest version of W3d is .24 (well, for the next 5 minutes..;) .obj works fine in version 5. I did get a note from someone a few days ago saying the really older versions of Bryce could only import in .dxf..but not sure if that's what the deal is..since you have trees on your create bar up there, it's gotta be at least version 5..;) Only strange thing I've run into is 'glowing objects' when importing from Wings..I know it works, about 90% of what I post is with Wings models..;)

The picture just appeared for me, so I have a better idea of what might be going wrong. You need to go to the menu bar at the top of the screen, then file->import. The create palette import will only import bryce obp(i think) files.

LOL... (After seeing the screen capture, it's painfully obvious as to why it wouldn't load.) Just do what danamo described.

After you import the model using the File menu bar import, then you can texture it and when you're finished you can add it to your object presets if you wish by clicking on the grouped model and clicking the add button, and naming your file. This turns your model into an .obp.
