Woe; Spike do you mean vegas 5? I read the system requierments, couldn't even load it on my comp. The price seemed to vary masivly from sight to site; $700 to $269. the program is just a bit ahead of me right now. Going surfing for a simple bitmao to mpeg converter. Any ideas?

Vegas 5 or 4, But as markschum pointed out, If all you need to do is basic stuff, that is a great option and will save you a lot of cash.

Hi, I have a professional grade editing suite which I rarely use because all the bells and whistles are confusing. If you just need basic editing features there are some very good free or shareware programs. Just a hint but I store all the originals , uncut and not retouched in a project source folder, and use copies for the actual work. That way I can always go back to the original if I make a mistake. Copies of the files on the computer are of course digital and there is no loss of quality. regards
