MartinC's Mac Converter will convert files to PC format. But it only runs on a Mac. Look in Poser Free Stuff for the utility. - Jim W

Most people on a Mac convert them to pc via Martin's mac convertor anyway but if there is something that is pure Mac you can either ask a Mac person or do some adjusting in the file name to make it work I think. I am on a Mac so I am not positive what the thing would be called. I have used res edit.

thanx for the help the only acces i have is the mac at work, this is a bit dumb but my boss doesn't back up work!!!!I am a bit nervous about using mac converter there(from reading the text with the utility, but i guess thats dramatic), but if not than I would have to edit the files here on my PC?hopefully some one can explain that to me,or maybe I'll just try it there

You can install Alladin Stuffit Expander 5.0 (freeware)on your PC, to convert Mac stuff in PC format : http://www.aladdinsys.com But how to transfer your files from the Mac to the PC????

The Mac file format is somewhat different from the PC in that the resource file is contained within the data file and accessed via a resource fork. For OBj files there is no translation needed, the PC will read them as is. For files such as CR2, PP2, etc. the PC will read the Mac data file, but will ignore the resource fork and you will get the guy with his shoulders shrugged and a question mark in your library display instead of the usual thumbnail picture. The Cr2, PP2, etc is still there, so just double click the guy and when your character, prop, etc appears, re-save it to the library and you should now have a thumbnail of it. Hope this helps you.... If your just talking about converting a Poser MAC PZ3, CR2, or other Poser file, the MAC Converter program is SAFE and easy to use. There is no reason to go into ResEdit or any other techie program at all. If you don't have a MAC and need a conversion, then I'd just ask someone here to convert it for you. Assuming it's a public domain (FREE non-comercial or not copywrited) file. If you want to open a MAC file on a PC , there is a program that allows you to see the file on a PC, but you can't do anything with it. This is mostly for just plain text files. Hope this helps. James
