Ray Trace shadows I've learned cast a sharp shadow. They also penetrate transmaps like no other (will cast an eyelash shadow). This basically contradicts an earlier thread that I thought I left helpful comments on. But hey! I'm learning. So, this may be nothing at all. Just thought the settings had some "soft" results. ,R RT is green and over her head with point at enabled. 1p unit away

Other settings

Soft results. All other lights are standard spots and global.

I may have blundered it again! Argh! Anyway, I've got to sleep. I'll try to sort this out later. I think you can get the reflects without the shadows, though. Later...

Technically, this is way beyond me, but I have to say that this is one phenomenal effect!

Hey, pookah, I do not have the time to solve this but I guess my point is understood. Play with Ray trace...I also had a great effect by using a very dark color at 100% (RayT). Positioning is critical dpending on bounces, too. All your important shadows can be done with normal spots. I'll repost this problem later when I have time to actually offer something...
