Or does this seem to be an exciting time of change within the fractal community here? When I first signed on about a year ago I have to say that the type of work being produced was not the same. It was all a part of the progression but I think that we've had an explosion of great new ideas and 'thinking outside of the box'lately. I am personally really impressed with the bulk of the work in the fractal community and impressed with the speed of so much change. I also love the fact that ideas, links, techniques and information are shared so openly. I feel it makes for a uniquely positive synergy. *applauds the fractal gallery. <----was moved by some of the frac hot 20 like I haven't been in a long long time as well.

Yes, there are so many stunning, jaw dropping images being produced. So many different styles. In these uncertain times when we seem to be bombarded daily with images of death and destruction it is really wonderful to know that there are so many people out there sitting at their computers creating or trying to create beautiful images to share with others. I agree with both of you. Also to consider is the synergy of ideas in which new images help explode the creativity amongst the various artists. ie. you see one of those 'jaw-droppers' and suddenly, you see new ways to explore those endless possibilities called fractals.

Didn't you know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That's why eyedrops and rose-colored glasses are needed.

I agree, too - There's lots of carping about stuff at Renderosity, but it has surely served as a real hotbed of new, creative ideas with all of the different art types that are thrown into the mix here. I see cool Bryce stuff and then try to make those types of images with Ultrafractal using only fractals and the capabilities of the fractal program. Or I see one of Keith's amazing flame compositions and have to give it a shot, too. The best thing about this site is all the exposure to different techniques and styles and how, along with the encouragement of others, it serves to help us all to improve in our artwork and to grow in new directions. I would never have tried the things I do with UF if not for the influences all around us here and how the immersion in the art here gets the creative juices flowing "like a waterfall, that is coming down a mountain", to paraphrase The Butthole Surfers. :>) Rick

I was just looking at the hot 20 and thinking what a variety of different styles and types of fractal art are on there now. It's pretty impressive...;o)

And you help them to become what they are capable of being.
