I'm in too. My other hobby is model railroads. So that first panel REALLY got my attention. Is the train a 3D model? Where did it come from? Terry

Geep, So these trains aren't in a format that is importable into poser?...or are they? Now, back to the deck :)
geep posted Fri, 23 July 2004 at 10:47 AM
Hi Stan,
Nope, sorry, the pic was a screenshot from another (Trainz) program and then used as a background pic in Poser. I'd be glad to share more info with anyone that is interested.
However, I believe that SAMS3D has some "Poser ready" trains. You might want to CHECK SAMS3D's SITE.

Sorry folks, didn't mean to interrupt class. I'll sit quietly (more or less) for the rest of class. BTW, thanks everyone for the site links.

Terry,
Please do not apologize for "interrupting" class.
The "interruptions" are what make these threads more interesting.
Feel free to interrupt anytime.

I even borrowed a laptop so I can stay connected to yous guys... I'm happily surfin while the pup bites my toes. Thank you Doc for taking my request. I was going a lil crazy repeating 'Sit' and 'Shake, LOL!

Drat... no train. I have to stifle all my puns about being on track or even a little loco. OTOH, if we build this big enough, we'll be playing with a full deck. BTW, several of the free texture sites have different kinds of wood planking for people who'd prefer redwood or the gracefully aged look of silver fir. Once we get this built, we can do all sorts of things with it. :)

Uh oh, Carolly caught up with me.
I guess I'll just have to "deal" with the deck I was handed.
I wonder if it "wood" it make any difference if I just sat here and *"stair"*ed at her or wood that really be *"step"*ing in it?
I'd probably really catch what "fir."
Then I could "pine" my life away.
You "wood" think I could come up with a better "crack" than that, wooden you?
Ok, ok, I know, I should be PUNished for that one ... or maybe just put in a PUNitentiary for a while, eh?

Hi Doc! As there seem to be a lot of model railroaders around (me too, me too ;-) why not modelling some railroad equipment in one of your next tutorials? Willy PS: I really love your way of teaching complicated things!

Well, I know who'd end up in the caboose! :sheepish grin: The really sleek streamlined models like on the 30's posters would be easiest, but I bet we'd have more fun with the antique coal-fired cars. Wait. Pistons. Remember what Questor went through with pistons? We'd better start with the caboose!

Ahh! RAILing - here it is again ;-) BTW, let's start with a flatcar, 'cause you can put, like, anything as a load on it (except fluids, that is).
geep posted Sun, 25 July 2004 at 1:00 PM
nAYsAYgUY CAN PUT FLUIDS ON A FLATCAR. (dang CapsLock #@%&^#$@#!!!)
(They just don't stay there very long - but he still carries fluids that way!)
