I moved my host for freewriters. I now get 800mb of space, 40 gigs of bandwidth, and a host of other stuff for less than 100 bucks a year. the things that are really neat are: * php/java/cgi chatroom * message boards * blogging programs (i already use blogger for the milk carton report) * three shopping carts and secure shopping thingies * e-commerce thingies * live support (god knows why) * FAQ maker * image galliers * classifieds * and some other stuff now tell me all of these things couldn't be used for a mega-oriented-bryce site called worlds of bryce :D with even an emag attached. the problem is that i don't have the time to do it all. so my question is, is anyone interested in working together with me on a modest site about bryce that can be updated daiy with tutorials, links, etc? or do you think that it would be a waste of time given the fact that daz is coming out with bryce 5.5 and later 6 and that once the site is comfortably set-up, it will be obsolete? thanks drac

btw, the perks of this would be: * your own @freewriters.ca webmail/pop adress * a decent amount of space to host your models and what not * the joy and priviledge of talking to me everyday (since you obviously don't get enough time as it is on the bryce forum cough) * other perks that i can't really think about but that will become obvious once we put our heads together, lol oh yeah, and did i mention that the site also has its own banner rotation script? ads. moula. drac

man, my free time has taken a dump since I got canned/rehired as a contractor (cost-savings measure..just not for me..:|
Just take your time at it, I'm sure you have plenty of stuff you can put up, and some great sites rarely change their content..

I'd do it but theres the slight issue that I've never used Bryce 5 in my life. Sad but true.

Free time? What's that? Is it something only retired people have or are there others out there with it?

I don't think I've had free time since I graduated High School.

Seriously, Drac, I like this idea. I'm not sure how much I could contribute, but it sounds like a great "Community" activity! On an aside, I just moved my ISP and now have my own domain: www.nukeboy.com! Unfortunately, the site is still dated... someday.

"...given the fact that daz is coming out with bryce 5.5 and later 6 and that once the site is comfortably set-up, it will be obsolete?" i think if you had a good bryce site, regardless, only more people would see it considering the release of the above... go for it!

If I convinced my fiancee that I'd have good reason to do it I think she might actually let me have some extra computer time. (Not like I'm not at renderosity all day while I'm at work.) I registered for a new freesite last week and haven't had any time to make anything for it. Every time I sit at my computer at home I think about Bryce. I have lots of spare time, its just that my fiancee won't let me use it!
