I have both of these packages and I have not try it yet. But my guess is that you didn't installed the Lightwave plugin "VueSynch.p" I am trying the same thing right now. I am notice that there is option to export maps and such, also atomsphere. I am not sure how long it will take, so I am going to let it do it and get back with you. I was interested in how this stuff works.. why not try it out. :)

I ran into problems also... I got a small sphere and black box represently the atompshere. I am not sure if it exported everything in correc area. No terrain. I have an idea that it maybe related on where you specified the objects - maybe the book has more information. I did place VueSynch.p in plugin directory but I did nothing with it. I also have 7.5, so it should work on there, but I saw in another thread that the sync stuff works on 8.0, so this should work.

The synch plug-in works on LW --> Vue as far as i understand it. i read the manual/book and it should have worked properly but it didnt. i am very frustrated as this is the reason i bought VuePro. damn! -Ross

The manual does indicated some objects don't export - like Poser objects - probably for legal reasons.

You need to change the grid size in Lightwave. Vue works in a totally different scale, so you'll have to either scale the objects individually or change the grid size, which is what I usually do. If you don't, the objects will indeed appear to have vanished...they are still in the objects list, I hope..

I remember seeing something about the grid size. I did not notice the terrain object in the object list however.

Hmm...well, a couple of things - the synch plugin is not involved with the exported scene as such; it only works on cameras and lights. If you use the 'Export entire scene' function, remember to deselect the 'Export only selected objects' option (ahem). As to the grid, I click 'Decrease grid' 10-12 times.

i'm interested in getting v4 pro so i can have entire scenes in lightwave as well, but the ridiculous thing is the demo can't export. i've only seen like 3 pics of lightwave renders using vue scenes, and i was nowhere near impressed. let me know here if it ever works, i'd love to see the results. i already have vue 4. i don't need to see what vue renders look like. i need to see how they export. this topic isn't shown at all on e-onsoftware.com.

If you'd like, I could export a scene for you. I'm fiddling with it right now, wouldn't be any trouble.

Here's a little something for you to play with - it's a simple scene containing only a plum tree, a camera and a light. I have not changed anything in the Lightwave scene! The Vue scene file is included, though I don't know if you can use it.
