Some of you read and responded to my last post here about 4 of my images getting removed. I'm ok with correction when I'm wrong, but have you seen some of the stuff in the World Events/Political gallery? If this stuff doesn't get cleared out, there is definately a double standard here.

your just now realizing this?

"World Events/Political gallery" seems pretty even to me. Some left; some right; which is what you would expect in a political gallery. Any particular images you consider unacceptable?

It's not selective enforcement AFAIK. It's complaint-based enforcement. Analogous to neighborhood crime. Most of it will never be acted on because the cops are too busy, there aren't enough personnel, and they never hear complaints about most of it. Like in the U.S., where about 6% of the population is in the criminal justice system at any given time. It would be more like 30-40% if there were 1000% more cops/DAs/judges and every crime was followed up.

I went & checked out that forum for the 1st & last time today. The 1st image I looked at with the persons commentary I found well...I have no words that would be suitable/in good taste to be spoken. As I was taught if you nothing good say don't say it ;)The responses reminded me of the old OT forum. I will not be back to that area...JMO.

LOL! The old OT forum was MILD compared to what is in there right now.

dlk30341 posted Mon, 26 July 2004 at 5:11 PM

MILD...you gotta be kidding!!! That 1st pic I looked at had so much foul language :>O.....Not that I'm a prude or anything I curse myself...but to see such hate/language in reference to a pic... sheesh..... Again I base this on the ONE pic I looked at....so I should'nt judge all based on the 1, but I hear enough political CRAP on the TV & don't care to see any here..especially ones that are filled with such hate...what a waste of energy to hate. So I won't look.... Again JMO.

I think you must be looking in a different gallery to me because I cannot find anything there that "has so much foul language" or "especially ones that are filled with such hate" or any that or against the TOS. I'm sure if there are any or were any then they have been removed. Which is probably why this thread was started of course because of the removal of offensive images.

dlk30341 posted Tue, 27 July 2004 at 2:49 PM

Nope..the image was removed. However, I didn't report it. I never "report" or "tattle" on anyone. Just not enough time in my day to scavenge around searching for TOS violations...I have better things to do with my time.

That's weird because I haven't noticed any images being deleted since yesterday in the world event/politics genre. Who was it by? Anyway, if it has been deleted, that solves the perceived problem doesn't it?

To be honest I found the naivety of some of the work to be offensive but not the symbolism. Not all of the images, there's some nice work there as well :)

dlk30341 posted Wed, 28 July 2004 at 7:34 AM

As a side note...it wasn't the pic that was offensive..it was the commentary/notes the person wrote in the notes. I will not mention names as to whom the pic belonged too.

  1. Re: ...and I was violating TOS? by mateo_sancarlos on 7/26/04 14:50 It's not selective enforcement AFAIK. It's complaint-based enforcement. It should not be. Doing things that way you can wind up with only selected members (wizardtim) getting targeted for complaints and having their images removed. If the tos is going to be enforced then by the mods then they should do so evenly, by doing the job of a mod and perusing the galleries once in awhile yourselves to make sure the content is tos compliant.
