This butterfly was there and a quick snapshot was taken. I saw beauty in the butterfly. Only when viewing the image did I see part of the wing missing. Still, this butterfly will live its life and be lovely to those who might see it atop the mountain.
So, one example of beauty seen and not in perfection of the subject. I wish people would see eachother that way sometimes.
Do you have an image of beauty in "imperfection"? If so, I would love for you to share it. TomDart.

You mean like a mountain withought triangular peaks or a lop sided tree or a model with crocked teeth? Bsteph

i agree with your words.beauty needs the perfection not as the important part. your snap shot is great. i this light situation it`s hard to get a perfect shot. light and shadow is to hard on the object. is the shadow from your person ? take care to stand in the right position ! have a wonderful time gerhard

great image, I love the harshness of the light, it only makes the butterfly seem more fragile and beautiful. you're right too - beauty and perfection are not the same thing. :)

Wolfsnap, I am not directly looking for tattered things...I am not sure what I am looking for but I believe it is out there in the varied hearts and visions of the talented folks on Rosity. This image is a good one for the thread. And, indeed this mushroom deserves a picture. Thanks a bunch! Really nice image, takes me to the forest. TomDart.
