Greetings all. I have an image in my gallery 'HUNTRESS' which I would like to add a little bit of volumetric lighting (dust particles/light beams etc.) The question is how do I achieve this in poser 4? Are there any freebies out there that anyone knows of? Or any techniques in Poser 4 itself? Cheers in advance. Tony.

Light beams could be faked by making a square or rectangle with a transparency map with the beams drawn on grey and the rest black. If you make the beams grey then they will be partly see-through.

Dust particles could be made with another transparency map on a plane with small dots on it for the floating dust.

There is a tutorial on how to achieve volumetric lighting in Poser 4 as well as Poser 5. You can find them here. Good luck. JV

Cheers JV but for that tutorial you need the Nerd3D fog tool which I do not have :( thanks for helping anyway

I know there's a few volumetric light props in the Free Stuff area. I found one off-hand; do a search for: Emulated Volumetric Light FX - that one might work for you. (I haven't tried it myself.) Cheers!

Minty - in the tutorial that JVRenderer pointed you to it actually says "Load a prop square and scale it to fill the background of your scene. (Or you could use the Nerd3D Backdrop Tool with no texture ;-) ) It also says "There must be something behind the figures for the volume to show up. A prop Square scaled to fill the window will work" I cant find any reference to Nerd3D Fog tool. It looks like a great Tutorial.
