I am just starting with poser (5) and I surely need to know better a lot of it. Nevertheless I saw it has a lot of possibilities, many of them are just not well documented. (One for all: the new probelight node in material room - see my recent post in Poser Tech forum). I think that with the appropriate tweaking, Poser5 can give some serious results. After all, paying 2k+ $ or for a CG program won't help in making any badly composed scene better. A lot of images posted in the gallery are just the result of throwing some model in a scene, clicking on some canned mat/pose/light set buttons and then rendering it. Now, I don't say 'make your own models', but I'd like to see more diversity, originality and so. Play with those morph dials (and not just to pump V3's breast up...), play with camera positioning, lightning, atmosphere and shadow settings. And don't forget the renderer's settings! Things can look absolutely different just passing from the standard 1024 texture default limit to 4096! Even the good old Don and July can be made to look 'real'... PS: as soon as i produce some decent renderings, I'll post em in my gallery. I made a lot, but they wouldn't pass my critic eye, so i chose to not post em. For now there is only a light test in my gallery (I don't like it, but the comparison between the light sets is clear).
